America right now is a dramedy… part clown show, part horror…

I had forgotten how annoying young cats are in the middle of the night.
Yeah, I have stories. It was rather a sad and hectic time in Razor's Edge, the recording studio, for the making of Houdini. Kurt was a mess, Lori was a mess, etc, etc. Jonathan Burnside, my ex, owned the studio and worked w the Melvins for years.
Not a fan.
Lori Black!
Maintenance is generally cheaper for an EV than a petrol car.
Same.
And a prize for anyone who knows the mother of the woman in the photo.

I’m a boomer. The guy in the green shirt was my husband at the time. You may recognise the other folks in this shot.
For those who missed it: this was the moment The Strokes ensured they’ll never be invited back to Coachella again! I'm so proud of them
It's actually a rather scary article, pointing out all the bots and fake accounts set up just to discredit the entire renewables industry.
I'm surprised they didn't set fire to a lithium battery to prove a point.

Top shelf liquor cabinet positions even.
Coachella is removing these videos, so they might be about to learn about the Strokesand Effect.
Unfortunately they are also game-changers for people who are blind or vision-impaired. I have personally spoken with these folks who swear by them.
WATCH: Researchers at Stanford University modeled how many people could die or be disabled in 25 years if vaccines for polio, measles, rubella or diphtheria were no longer available.
This is truly one of the most remarkable advances in cancer therapy in history: metastatic pancreatic cancer was a short-term death sentence and this new approach put many of them into long term remission. This is why we invest in science, and why RFKs effort to kill this work is misguided 🧪
So they have to apply for citizenship first and then their passports? Or can they just apply for UK passports?
I still think about it, especially when discussing stuff like this.
Yep.
Yep, classic dystopian Brazil movie nightmare.
I was in a pram when I left the UK on a frigging boat in 1956! I swear my birth certificate was written by quill pen. When I faced this with my son in the US in 1990 or so, we managed to get him an Australian passport in 3 days.
My daughter, who writes government policy for a living, says the person who wrote the information on the UK website should be fired. It was unclear if descendants of UK citizens had to apply, or were automatically given UK citizenship. We spent hours reading the legislation instead.
I recently applied for my UK birth certificate which I’d mislaid and I swear it took 8 weeks to arrive. If you haven’t seen the dystopian 1985 UK movie Brazil, I highly recommend it.
There are so many bureaucratic horror stories because the UK is insisting on original documents being posted to them, it’s taking months and nobody got the memo in the first place. My daughter changed her travel plans for this July FFS.
Australia and the US have had this requirement for decades. I got caught coming back home for a visit in the late 89s. But for the UK, I think you can thank Brexit.
My children were born in the US, are naturalised Australians and must use each country’s passport to enter that country so it’s nothing new. But being stung with having a citizenship without applying because of where I was born is a twist. Now they have three citizenships.
