Is it normal for #Godot games on Metal to beachball if the shader cache is empty for 60-90s? My game is currently doing it even on the most powerful macs and I'm curious if I've done something wrong. see: github.com/godotengine/...

Strong recommend: The Race for Space album by Public Service Broadcasting. It's a mixture of electronic music and historical clips from the space race. It's great to pump you up and I found it even more impactful given Artemis II. Start with "Go!"
Let's replace 'save scumming' with 'save game enthusiast'.
Looks like Backrooms is cribbing a lot from House of Leaves. I'm here for it!

There's a reason I try to make sure my games run well on 10 year old laptops. People are making their hardware last a lot longer because of inflation, tarrifs and RAM shortages.
Finally they’re coming out with a new nvidia shield tv.
We wrote up a blog post explaining how we create the background art for The Incident at Galley House: eviltrout.com/blog/2026-03... #gamedev #GodotEngine
One of the most stressful things I've had to deal with as an adult is my elderly father getting sick and needing serious help. This entire year has been a huge ball of stress as I figure out how to get him into a nursing home. I'm about to move in with him to provide care for a couple weeks.
I upgraded my home Internet to 8Gbps. It's literally crazy that it's 8000x faster than my first cable modem was, which I thought was the fastest thing ever at the time!
My pal @timsheinman.bsky.social just launched his new deduction game, The Ratline, which is about hunting Nazi fugitives. Go get it, detectives! 🕵️♂️🔎

It doesn’t matter if you’re interested in the MacBook Neo or not; this is the kind of essay that makes you think about the potential of technology and the joys of exploration.
I've had a homelab of some kind running for at least a decade, and it's a super fun and educational hobby. My latest local install is paperless-ngx. It indexes all my PDFs (even doing OCR if necessary) and lets me search them super quick. Previously I'd search gmail for stuff which sucked.
A badge that shows we're a finalist for Best Narrative at Gamescom LatAm BIG Festival
We're nominated for Best Narrative at the Gamescom Latam BIG Festival. Also, we recently released Brazilian Portuguese, which should be of interest to our Latin American players!
I got a MacBook Neo because I think they'll sell like hotcakes and I wanted to make sure The Roottrees are Dead and The Incident at Galley House run well on it. It seems they do smoothly out of the box! It only has 8GB but it's honestly no slouch.
I do have some FOMO about GDC but I gotta stick to my guns about not travelling to a country whose president threatened to annex us. 🇨🇦
Wow it’s my birthday too! Many such cases
I keep coming back to it every year or so. I’ve often wondered what the magic is for me…
In retrospect, I’m surprised I liked them as much as I did because they were so user hostile. Things improved a LOT in the 90s
Day of the tentacle Grand theft auto 5 Prince of Persia the Sands of Time Gone home Blue Prince Portal 2 The witness Jones in the fast lane Monkey island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge
It’s impossible to pick only 9 games but maybe…
Never heard of 20th century frog! That looks so bizarre and I must try it
The GLAAD Media Awards are today, and The Roottrees are Dead is nominated for Outstanding Video Game! To celebrate, we've joined a Steam bundle with some of our fellow nominees: store.steampowered.com/bundle/69389...
We also just updated our screenshots on Steam if you want to see what the game is looking like these days: store.steampowered.com/app/3641000/...

Do you ever do freelancing? Our Godot game could use some more juice. My email is robin {at} eviltrout (com) if you want to chat about it!
I’m curious how you feel about it now! Are you still angry or is it funny?
