Does he speak English? Nope. Do we speak Spanish? Nope.

Just realised it’s autism awareness day, literally had no idea. Terrible of me.

Was just talking with my wife about some of our kids’ behaviours: “we have one kid that refuses to eat, and the other eats everything but disagrees with us in Spanish.”

Someone ran my quantisation post through Google’s NotebookLM and created an AI video of it.

I don’t really get it? I watched the whole thing and it’s wrong in many places. Lots of the visuals are inaccurate, or don’t line up well with the AI voice.

Why not just… read the post? I made it correct.

I've been playing around with Chrome's experimental HTML-in-Canvas API (I use it to create my videos), and I wanted to see if I could make text-selection work on a curved surface by moving the underlying element around on pointermove. It works pretty well!

Had a similar reaction. I’m open to the idea there could be a way to reduce them to the point they’re very very rare, and we’ve seen it get better over time, but ultimately you’re sampling from a probability distribution you fundamentally don’t understand. I’m not sure what they expect.

Ever since my Big O post I can’t read HN comments anymore. Too demoralising.

If Artemis is going up then it gives me an excuse to once again post this photo, the only one to contain every human being in the universe but one.

I’m deep researching it. It’s literally a Ralph loop. I’m slinging it to my polecats in Gas Town. I’m using Mythos bro. I’ve hooked it up to OpenClaw. It’s a sub-agent swarm. I’m dangerously skipping permissions. I’ve made a custom agent sandbox. I’m vibemaxxing in OpenCode bro.

In my experience getting 2 kids diagnosed autistic, it is not at all incentivised. At least not by the government. They throw a lot of things in your way and make it as difficult as it could be. Lots of well-meaning boots-on-the-ground people helped us and that's why we succeeded.

A screenshot from the https://www.keithcirkel.co.uk/css-or-bs/ result screen showing that I scored 28/80 (whatever that means) and I got 15 out of the 20 questions correct.

Pretty happy with 15/20 correct. I assume the 28/80 comes from how long I took? Not super obvious.

I read the latest post from the CTO about GitHub’s recent outages and it’s frankly embarrassing. Almost feels like ChatGPT wrote it. Totally disconnected from the concerns people have, simultaneously focused too much on the tech but also giving very few actual details about what’s going on.

This city is built with CSS. No SVG. No images. No HTML. Just gradients... and a bit of patience.

I haven't touched this in a while, but it still holds up. I'd love to expand it into a full city someday.

It’s on a topic I’ve actually wanted to write about for years but made a decision not to write about on my personal site.

Pete’s work on writing a book about the history of domains is one of the projects I am most excited about in 2026.

I marshalled my years of experience as an SRE in large and small companies to refresh the page until it came back up on its own.

AtmosphereConf 2026 is a wrap! We hope all the remote attendees had a great Streamplace experience.

When VODs, you ask? They're actually up right now! They're `place.stream.video` records in this repo.

One catch: no frontend yet. That's where you come in.

Welcome to the Streamplace VOD JAM.

Kinda weird. Updating my nameservers for jsdate.wtf took down all of my other domains for a few minutes.

I forgot to update the nameserver records on this domain after migrating to Porkbun. Remembered for every domain except this one. Derp.

There's something quite exciting happening with AVIF and progressive rendering.

Some recent patches let you provide custom 'frames' as progressive passes, so you can provide e.g. smaller blurry versions of the full image to use as a progressive pass.

Better mic helps. A good laptop mic is usable but you’ll notice some commands getting misheard. AirPods I’d say are not quite good enough, have tried myself and quickly gave up. I use an SM7B day to day. The people who depend full time on the software buy very expensive headsets.

Just a lil heads up that some of the text has pretty low contrast, feels like a dark theme issue?
