In other news: THIS is way better news...
Proud to stand with Stacey Abrams, Mychal Threets, Jenn Stowe, and all the #ReadThemHome national partners, as we continue our national online vigil to end the inhumane detention of children and families.
The kind of news we do like!
Feliz cumpleaños 🥳
While Trump is destroying the Middle East and our NATO alliance, these folks won't ever let anyone forget that what matters first to everyone is whether they can feed their families, pay their bills, afford health care, provide child care, buy clothing... the stuff we all need.

A msg from @elenahung.bsky.social — who is outside the Dilley Detention Center as part of #ReadThemHome
The trauma children in detention carry doesn't disappear when the cell door opens. The anxiety, regression, loss of language — that damage is real and it is lasting.
END FAMILY DETENTION!

A threat to any child is a threat to all children.
We need to end family detention everywhere, now.

Immigration enforcement and detention disproportionately affect disabled people, including children. The abusive and shameful conditions in detention facilities exacerbate or cause life-threatening and long-term mental and physical health consequences.

#Disability justice is #immigration justice is disability justice is immigration justice.

I have spent the past nine years advocating for medically complex disabled kids like my daughter to live at home in the community and not in institutions. I see these kids in detention centers and think the same exact thing: kids should live at home in the community and not in institutions.

I am in Dilley, Texas right to help draw attention to the fact that children are currently locked up and detained at the Dilley Detention Center. That’s right: CHILDREN. DETAINED.

A woman wearing a blue Little Lobbyists t-shirt reads aloud from a book in front of a branded step-and-repeat backdrop featuring the Little Lobbyists logo. A large teddy bear wearing a "Read Them Home" vest sits behind her. A sign reading "End Family Detention" is visible on a bookshelf to her left. A sign language interpreter appears in a small inset window in the upper right corner. Captions at the bottom read: "to the bakers. She bought a loaf of brown bed and five"
HAPPENING NOW: @elenahung.bsky.social reads children's books as part of the #ReadThemHome campaign.
Reading aloud offers a powerful contrast between the horrors of the Dilley #Immigration Detention Center and the beauty of letting kids be kids.

Children should not be detained, ever. Not really sure how else to say that...

As my colleague Andy Schneider explained there is a complex administrative process CMS has to follow to preemptively withhold or retrospectively disallow federal #Medicaid funding for a state like MN. It would be unlawful to just unilaterally halt federal funding: ccf.georgetown.edu/2026/01/16/c...
Disgusted by this Administration’s ongoing attacks on the state of Minnesota - now an unlawful act to withhold federal Medicaid funding preemptively.
Medicaid serves children, people with disabilities etc.
Photo of (L to R) Maria, me, and Lachi with her sparkly Glam Cane; we are all smiling at the camera and looking gorgeous AF. I am holding a copy of Lachi's book "I identify as blind" in my hand.
Very few people will get me to leave my warm, comfy bed and go outside in this icy snow; @mariatown.bsky.social & @lachimusic.bsky.social did! Thrilled I got to spend the evening listening to their conversation on all things disability, including Lachi's new book "I identify as blind."
Hello, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social! My name is Juan Escalante, and I am an immigrant rights advocate 👋
I am still up and working on the West Coast, so I'd be more than happy to give you a crash course on why this is a bad ask
Let's talk
We could have health care and help people survive and thrive or ... Americans shot and killed in broad daylight by masked officials. 🤔
I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.
I don’t let bullies win.
Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.
NEW — ICE violence has spread well beyond Minneapolis, with agents landing in small cities like St. Cloud. I spoke with Alice Valentine, a local queer trans woman, who protested ICE on Monday and was pepper sprayed, beaten and jailed as a result, along with her girlfriend.
This is Alice's story:
“Denying disabled people accommodations is denying their basic rights. On multiple occasions, ICE has engaged in inhuman treatment when apprehending people who are disabled.”
THE MONEY FUNDING MASKED ICE AGENTS 👇
IS THE SAME MONEY THAT COULD’VE FUNDED #MEDICAID FOR MEDICALLY COMPLEX AND DISABLED CHILDREN
