...his name wasn't Brad, by any chance? My one college roommate used to "practice" and invariably hit something nearby by accident.

"Hot Potato"? Love it!
This is one of those times I feel like I should follow EPL just enough to know the subtext of people’s comments 🙂

I think that particular card is missing the black ink. Maybe @vossbrink.bsky.social wants to weigh in?

2026 Shlabotnik custom baseball card of White Sox slugger Munetaka Murakami
The only thing related to MLB that's going right for me this month is that I picked up Munetaka Murakami on waivers for my fantasy team
I have faith that someone will know what I'm talking about

Hey, it's Adolfo Phillips, one of the players traded with Fergie Jenkins to the Cubs OTD in 1966!
OMG, it's been 13 years?!?
Never knew him, but I was a regular reader
RIP Chris
1966 Topps "Phillies Rookie Stars" baseball card of pitcher Ferguson Jenkins and 1B/OF Bill Sorrell. Sadly not a card from my collection
OTD in 1966, the Phillies traded Fergie Jenkins, Adolfo Phillips and John Herrnstein to the Cubs for Bob Buhl and Larry Jackson
Reno!
Orioles legend!
Yeah, well, bip you and the bot you rode in on! 😀
FWIW I don’t believe that AH created Statis Pro, maybe licensed a series of sports games… My copy (1978 season) did come in the same “bookshelf” box as Avalon Hill’s “Third Reich” game that I owned (and ended up being a failed experiment for me)
I played my friend's copy of Strat as a pre-teen but as a teenager I pored over Avalon Hill game catalogs and got intrigued by Statis Pro... Plus I've always had a tendency to march to a different drummer 🙂

Sir, I *collect* Frank Catalanotto! HOW DARE YOU!!!!!
(Saw him in the minors and he's from the next town over from where I grew up)
