BREAKING: A record-high 40 senators just voted to block weapons to Israel, up from 27 last July.
There is much more work to be done, but today was yet another statement that the movement for Palestinian rights is growing in the halls of power.

Anyone who thinks this way, with such juvenile concern for the aesthetics or the temperament of those pursuing justice, is a fraud, plain and simple.
An Apple News headline saying “What Cannabis Does To Your Memory”
It makes it…totally rule?

I'm one of those trans women. I worked ground ops for Artemis I.
I am torn between celebrating the success of my friends and peers and grieving how my dream of working for NASA was shattered by hateful assholes in Tallahassee
congratulations to the astronauts who get credit for a moon mission using rocket development work by trans women who had to quit their job and flee the state of florida and can’t celebrate this win with their coworkers
I’m back, reviewing the final season of THE BOYS for Episodic Medium! As you may imagine, there is a LOT to unpack with this season premiere in light of the past… (starts counting months on fingers, passes out):
My favorite Beatles moment comes from this interview where good ol’ Ringo absolutely burns the place down, politely of course:
Q: What do you say to people who claim you’re not a very good drummer?
A: I usually tell them I was the drummer for The Beatles.
This entire administration is just an illegal insider trading grift using the stability and lives of billions of people as bait for gambling profits.
You have more in common with the people of Iran than you do with anyone in this administration, any member of the technocracy, anyone who is profiting from this war, or any billionaire. When you see Iranians forming human chains outside key infrastructure sites, you should feel a sense of kinship.
There is a path. It’s the path that Michael Vick walked. He has worked with the Humane Society for the last 17 years to educate folk about animal cruelty. He says he’ll do that work for the rest of his life.
Call me when Louis or Kanye devotes even one weekend to making reparation.
I’d be fine with that, too!
Honestly the whole idea of complaining about “handouts” (already the wrong framing imho) for what is near-universally a working-class to lower-middle-class career and demographic in this country feels like your sights are on very wrong targets
$36,470.
That’s the average yearly income for restaurant servers in the U.S. It’s lovely that some of them in NYC can clear $500/night. Consider the overwhelming majority who depend dearly on that deduction before complaining about “massive handouts”. (And tipping out BOH IS common practice, fwiw)
Emily, you saying “I may have too much specialized knowledge for this world” may be one of the only things keeping me afloat this week.
"Hegseth’s broker at Morgan Stanley contacted BlackRock in February about making a multimillion-dollar investment in the asset manager’s Defense Industrials Active ETF, the people said, shortly before the US launched military action against Tehran."
Can't help but think that if the Humanities had been required in techbros' education we might have avoided them interpreting every dystopian cautionary tale as an instruction manual. www.theguardian.com/technology/2...
wouldn't it be funny if EVERYONE blocked this Attie AI account @ bsky.app/profile/atti... before they could do anything with it
I reviewed the latest from The New Pornographers for @pastemagazine.bsky.social, and to say it is their bleakest record might be putting it mildly.
In her letter to lawmakers, Thompson asked for help to close the facility and transfer its ownership from the federal government to the village for redevelopment as a museum. The “Broadview Justice Corridor,” as she called the project, would turn the ICE facility into a “national center dedicated to immigration history, civil rights education, civic leadership, and cultural tourism. “This transformation would convert a site associated with fear, protest, and division into one that promotes education, reconciliation, and national dialogue,” Thompson wrote in the letter, estimating the proposal would draw up to 250,000 visitors annually and generate up to $31 million in economic activity.
This is a legitimately great idea. Turn every ICE concentration camp into a museum of their crimes and the people who fought against them.
Uncanny. The only way to tell them apart is that Patrick Bateman has killed fewer homeless people

Ten headlines from today’s New York Times
(H/t to @coreyrobin.bsky.social)
“This is one of the most grotesque crimes of our time.”
Awww man, this makes me sad. He struggled very publicly with addiction - but Will is right, Xander Harris is a hell of a legacy. (Not to mention a terrific later-in-life role in the sci-fi indie COHERENCE). R.I.P. man, doing the Snoopy dance in heaven now.
I don’t remember who coined it first or how exactly it was said, but whoever said that transphobia is basically an early symptom of unfettered psychosis is completely correct
Could not co-sign this argument any harder if I had written it myself
Our closing message.
The United States is contemplating threatening to kill people with HIV in another country as leverage to get that country's minerals.
We have become a sick nation, just as depraved and disgusting as its leader.
Vanessa Kirby and Zach Gonatsagen from NIGHT ALWAYS COMES
I get that they always basically nominate the same films for every goddamn category regardless of reason or logic, but when I watched the inaugural Best Casting Oscar tonight, all I could think was Carmen Cuba deserved it for NIGHT ALWAYS COMES. By far the greatest, most surprisingly perfect cast.
republicans are in charge of everything and they are getting everything theyve ever wanted and doing everything theyve ever wanted and the world is on fire and the global world order is collapsing. is there a correlation? who can say
