Hell yes, Pittsburgh. Love Yinz. No Kings.

State department guidance is now up for transgender people who want to change their gender marker on their passports.
Your window opens NOW to make it happen, with some caveats: data will be collected on changes.
EITM was the first media outlet to report this breaking development for trans people.
Florida in 2025: “caselaw is building that seems to suggest teachers only have free speech when they disagree with transgender people, but as soon as transgender people come into play, they lose those rights - even in intensely personal subjects such as what name or pronoun or honorific one uses.”
Don't let the bigots pathologize us.
Yes dysphoria kills. It sucks. Believe me, I know. But we are NOT our dysphoria and we are owed more than simply being trauma porn.
We deserve gender affirming care because we're human beings and bodily autonomy is a human right.
“The decision is hard to stomach. But it’s important to note that there’s nothing in this decision that is a green light.” – Karen Loewy, Lambda Legal Senior Counsel via @huffpost.com
1. Trump has promised harsher ICE crackdowns on Truth Social.
He blamed transgender people as the reason such crackdowns must happen.
Particularly, he used the phrase "transgender for everybody," a phrase he has increasingly used to justify anything he wants.

I woke with a swell of Pittsburgh pride this morning.
Cover Art for “Mapping Multi-Genre Literary Framework for Trans* Studies.” The art was created by Arien Reed and features a person who is naked with long, tightly curled hair looking up to the sky. Two hands wrap around the person, leaving blank spaces in their torso, and flower petals stream off the vibrant water-color surface of the figure’s skin. The figure is ambiguously gendered.
Hi, folks! If you are interested in learning about how trans* authors are using counter narratives as a tool for survival in the face of anti trans* lawmaking, please check out my new book! 🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈

Thank you for the kind shoutout, @constellationsjrnl.bsky.social!
Yessssss
In an absolutely devastating ruling, the Supreme Court has allowed the transgender military ban to go into effect.
This is shocking - the ban explicitly called transgender people dishonorable for being transgender. It is as clear as day soaked in animus.

Remember: community will care and remain regardless of whether federal support is available.
Misinformation is now the norm… I’m reminded of zines during the height of the AIDS epidemic (like the 1993 “gendertrash from hell issues) through which community organizers shared census data and care guidelines despite a lack of federal support. More accurate information can be found there.
Lambda [cont] – ICYWW the reason Lambda filed a 2nd suit _after_ ACLU got an injunction against State Dept passport policy was the P/I only applied to its plaintiffs. LLDEF’s suit is trying again to get a court to stop the practice for everyone [HT @dana@catodon.social]
Walz: If you say you love freedom but you don't believe freedom is for everybody, then the thing you love is not freedom, it is privilege.
I feel like I was just punched in the ribs. Fuck.
To hell with this.
The cover art to “The Spirit Bares Its Teeth.” In the center is an individual with long, curled blonde hair, violet eyes that look to be in pain (facing to the right), and a clutched shard of glass in hand. The individual is framed in an oval-shaped, golden frame with a blue sky and white clouds in the background. Behind the framed image of the individual is a haunting collage of violet eyes.
A timely book recommendation: “The Spirit Bares Its Teeth,” by Andrew Joseph White.
The narrative is in the style of a Victorian Gothic (very dark, see trigger warnings), and it features a neurodivergent and trans masc protagonist whose knowledge of medicine seems to far exceed RFK Jr. Just saying!
To my autistic friends and fellow neurodiverse comrades, let your dreams, loves, and poetry fill with all the beauty and power he fails to imagine.
“The Trump Administration Threat To Transgender Adult Care Is Growing At Lightning Speed” — Friends, please be advised.
Also, one more thing: if you're not LGBTQ, you don't get a say on who's welcome in our community. Asexual and aromantic people are sexual minorities. They're always welcome in our spaces. Our spaces are their spaces. Mind your own damn business and get a new hobby.
Last year, only 49—less than 10%—of the 533 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced in state legislatures passed into law.
Advocates in Georgia and Missouri defeated all 54 anti-LGBTQ bills introduced last year despite Republican majorities.

I am watching Senator Booker's filibuster on Roland Martin's YouTube channel between meetings.
(Shout out to his staffers, too. They did tons of prep for this.)

1. The Trump administration has announced it will be investigating California, and will pull its school funding unless it forcibly outs transgender students.
California has a law against forced outing policies.

Debates over child labor laws in Florida could make it legal for 14 year olds to work overnight shifts on school nights in order to make up for lost labor from folks who are undocumented... like shifting from one exploited labor force to another. Clearly education is not a priority.
