Right?! Like I don't want to stick out! I am so clueless. I was probably 27 or 28 at my last concert, and I probably wore tight black Rock Star jeans from Old Navy and an equally tight and low-cut shirt. Not doing either of those now in my 40s, lol.

I'm trying to remember the last time I went to a concert, and it was probably Roger Clyne or the Three Amigos in a bar, or Alison Krauss at a big outdoor festival, both when I was in my 20s and a completely different person with a different body. So any help is much appreciated. 5/5
Finally, I'm going to see Tori Amos (and I am SO excited). I'm going with some girlfriends and we're going to relive our best high school sad girl times. I have a pair of purple corduroy bootcut pants that feel right for this concert, but no idea what to pair them with/how to style them. 4/
The second concert is Lord Huron. It's an indoor concert, so I don't need to dress for the weather. All I can think of is "cute dress with pockets" but I feel like I need something with more of a Twin Peaks vibe, if that makes sense? 3/
The first one is BTS and it's the one I'm most clueless about. I'm going with my mom who is a super fan, I know their radio singles but that's it. I have no idea what the concert fashion vibe is at their shows. Colorful? Sparkles? No clue. 2/
Advice needed: How do grown ups dress for concerts? I haven't been to one in over a decade, and now I'm going to three, all with wildly different vibes. I will take any and all advice. 1/

Hey so, this might sound weird, but I stumbled on your weaving just now and it is INCREDIBLE. I work for Little Looms magazine and I would love to work with you if you'd be interested in weaving for us sometime. My DMs are open or you can email me at cgarton at longthreadmedia dot com.
That is SO pretty! What structure is that?
That's super cute! Did you use a variegated yarn? The color changes are so good! The selvedges are also really tidy which I cannot imagine was easy on such a narrow weaving.
LOVE those colors! It makes me think of old china patterns in the best way.
I've done that before SO many times! My problem is that I always forget to check if the S- and Z-threading refers to the card direction or the thread direction. I default to tablet direction and, as a result, have woven several (many) bands wrong-side-up, lol.
Thank you!
Thank you! This my third weaving retreat and they've all been a ton of fun. It's just SO nice to be surrounded by fiber and fiber people. I always learn so much and even though I'm exhausted by the end, I'm also filled with inspiration and ideas for new projects. It's the best!
Thank you! That's what Annie usually makes with her straps and I can conirm, these patterns are STUNNING oon her straps.
Cloth being woven on the loom. The warp on the loom is visible, and is lime green. The cloth has a white plain-weave border on either end. Between the plain weave the cloth is weft-faced (you can only see the side-to-side threads). Patterns on the cloth include stripes, boxes, and wavy lines in white, three shades of purple, and lime green.
I also took a krokbragd on the rigid-heddle loom class. I had some trouble remembering which step I was on at any given time, but I did love playing with shape and color. I'm going to rethread for double-heddle krokbragd (we used a pick-up stick and heddle rod) and see if that feels better. #weaving
I took a class with the BRILLIANT Annie MacHale who reversed-engineered this technique after seeing it in a book on Lithuanian sashes from the 80s. I am obsessed as this is just the right kind of fiddly weaving that brings me so much joy.
A woven band still on the loom. The band has a lilac border of about a 1/4 inch on either side. In between are warp (up and down threads) in light blue, medium blue, and dark purple. The alternating three warp colors creates a speckled cloth when woven in plain weave. In some areas, pick-up has been done to create diamond and heart motifs.
I've mostly been lurking lately because life got wildly busy (in a good way) and also anxiety, but I just returned from our annual weaving retreat and feel refreshed. I'm also newly obsessed with 3-color pick-up. Look at how cool this is?! #inkle #weaving #inkleweaving
Hello, book people! I am the book content editor for Reactor Mag and I'm looking for 2026 sci-fi, fantasy, horror, romantasy, and speculative books coming out in the second half of the year! If you have an adult or YA SFF/H book out July-Dec (or publicist), share the link/info here!
An embroidery of an inner ear done in bone white thread on dark purple linen. The centre of the spiral is labeled “nave of vibration”, the body of the inner ear is labeled “plumes of sound”, and the tubes are labeled “windows open.”
It’s #WorldHearingDay to raise awareness about hearing health and accessibility. Here’s my #SciArt #embroidery of the cochlea/inner ear—nave of vibration (2017)—which I did while researching my symptoms of hyperacusis.
This is where you're allowed to spend your money today, and you should.
I would love a tutorial on eco printing using flowers, an article on planting a dye garden, and/or a tutorial/article on using flowers and other common garden plants in dyeing. You DO NOT need to weave to write us an article. Questions? DM me here or email me at the address in the call for subs. 3/3
A green rug on a bathroom floor. The rug is a sort of jungle green with areas of fluffy pile interspersed with flat areas so it looks like a grassy fields. Small areas of purple and yellow pile are scattered around the rug, like flowers. Around hte rug are bathroom items: a brush, some towels, and a bar of soap.
Projects I would LOVE to have a #tablet or #inkle band with a green leaf motif, a pile rug that looks like grass, like this one by Jean Scorgie from Handwoven. If I could get napkins or towels with a pick-up root vegetable motif on the borders it would make my life. #rigidheddlweaving #pinloom 2/
I know things are completely wild right now, but if you need a break to do something creative the new call for submissions for Little Looms is out!
The theme is "In the Garden" and I'm looking for not just weaving projects, but also some dyeing and eco printing articles/tutorials. 1/
Hats off to the people of Greenland for their knitwear game. #DHmakes
Mask recs needed! I'm heading to a work event in March and need to get some new masks that will work with glasses. Bonus if I can get them in fun colors/patterns. (I do have 3M Auras but they chafe my nose real bad.)
I LOVE my Kobo and Kobo Plus subscription, so I'll be referring to this list when I need a new read.
It is, and if you haven't tried it yet, I recommend picking some up. I always try to get a jar when I'm back in the area because it's impossible to find anywhere else.
