bitsummit is the main thing I don't think i'm fully mentally prepared for. potentially seeing so many people I know from the internet in real life for the first time. and being at an expo of that calibre in general. this might be the year whatever i've been doing starts to feel truly real

though I do mainly plan to just chill (and catch up on work) in Japan instead of constantly travelling around. I want to get a feel for what it's like to actually live there, rather than be a tourist

the upcoming month is gonna be crazy

we've only just passed the first quarter of the year and this is already one of the all time years of my life

this year is like my life kicking into high gear all of a sudden

I've played through all the campaigns and DLCs but don't really play much splatoon multiplayer anymore. so raiders looks like the perfect splatoon game for me

hell yeah love me some singleplayer splatoon

person in front of me was sitting fully upright in the last 3rd of the movie and was partially blocking the subtitles which was annoying. but the same person also pulled out glowsticks at the end and was waving them around alone, which was amusing enough that I think it evened out the experience

I really wasn't expecting to like it so much, the 2nd half especially was a heck of an experience. I don't know how well it will age given it being extremely "current otaku internet culture", references and all. It's probably overstimulating nonsense to offline people. But it might become a classic.

I love that they used a real Live2D avatar in some parts. The visuals were fantastic overall. Loved hearing prominent chiptune in a movie of this length and budget. The fakeout also got me good. I wish I watched it at a better bitrate and resolution, or on the big screen. This is one I might rewatch

I dunno why I thought it wouldn't be for me when clearly I'm close to the centre of the target audience. I screamed every time a banger remix of a song I used to listen to a lot as a teenager started playing. 3 separate times. especially THAT one. The only movie to ever do that to me.

I'll be real, I thought I was gonna cringe my way through it given the subject matter and me becoming so jaded about tech/future stuff. and while there was some of that, it was so sincere and authentic I couldn't stay cynical.

I am definitely trying to take on way too many things at once

maybe I should get to trying neon white (made by some of the same people). it doesn't look like it scratches the same itch though

I've yet to play another speed/momentum focused game that tops Zineth for me. the playground-like mini open world, the top speed being uncapped and that the final mission is to figure out how to go fast enough to launch yourself all the way to the moon... it was so fun
