Alan, were you at Bedford Esquires? I have the feeling that Mercury Rev are extremely consistent, and the differences between shows is only down to how I’m feeling, not their performance.

Indeed. I find it so odd that Question Time makes a point of having an audience selected to reflect the voting public, but doesn’t seem to apply so much care when selecting the panel.
