Don't have enough permitted subs to give many of these players the punishment they deserve. What offenders need to come off. Begin with Hatate and Kyogo, give the rest of them 15 and hook from there.

I think today shows there's issues in centre forward and centre mid too. Not depth related, but the quality of performances of the starting players.
Yes but your post suggests that Rodgers has deliberately manufactured that situation
Why does it seem like that?

Too many honourable mentions.
A tough night for him. It'll come, he definitely has the attributes.
The team that finishes the match is as important as the team that starts. I think digging the manager out for bringing Valle on for impact in the last 30, in a tactical switch, is harsh. In a similar vein, he's stuck by Engels and made a change at an appropriate time.
Celtic really had to dig in for that point. It's went out way in the last two home games and we have dazzled, but staying strong on a difficult night against tough opposition is just as important. Great coverage again tonight ๐
That's a pretty harsh assessment. Why was starting the team that beat Leipzig such a mistake?
When you're not at your best, you need to dig in, stay together and take what you can. That would have been a defeat in previous years. Good mentality shown in the second half.
Kuhn sprinting back whilst the midfield walk. Again.
A wee reminder that you can't compete in Europe without a defensive midfielder.
Riquelme could easily work for the Villarreal airport sponsor too.

Wout Faes with his best Nat Phillips impression.
Absolutely brilliant to see a one club player in this age. He has a supreme attitude and has contributed so much over the years. I actually think he could extend his career by moving to another club after this deal, but don't see it. Could be lighting it up at Ayr or something until he's 40.
He has another 2/3 in him if used properly. He can do the role of the single sitting midfielder in the league, and rest when appropriate. Doing that alone in Europe, with his lack of defensive instinct, will see him continually exposed. If he has legs alongside him, he can continue at that level.
Just going to throw out a blind guess of Retegui.
The good thing is, there's no real scenario in which there's no realistic hope of a play off. Given how we felt after the Euros, that's a decent spot to be in.
Just coming to terms with it being an ongoing mixed bag with Clarke. For every baffling tactical farce there's a relatively sustained resurgence. Rinse and repeat.
3rd seeding not an insurmountable task if you can beat the likes of Croatia and Poland.
Wouldn't debate much, could swap out Kuhn or Hatate for Maeda or Engels/Bernardo but not on current form. Kyogo in due to stagnation of Eddy and Dembele. Won't be long until Doak is in the conversation. The only wildcard I'll throw in is Elyonoussi, he continues to show his quality. Top player.
Kaka was unbelievable that night in 2013/14. Scary thing is that he was very much past his best.
*not the one that resulted in the penalty and red card*
Well in Scalesy ๐
Celebrating that Liam Scales tackle like a winner in the Champions League.
I'm all for that, hence why I eye-rolled slightly at the nature of the discourse in question. No harm done and it's important for an account such as his to gain traction, I just seen it as a bit of an empty collation of responses, with the number of responses being more important than the content.
Is there anything we can do to avoid taking steps towards the toxicity of the old place other than constantly reminding each other how warm and welcoming this place is, and how much we all love and respect each other? Doesn't feel sustainable. Just relax, be a cynic or a pedant if you wish.
Maybe different views of what calculated engagement is. I thought it seemed a bit "I don't have any videos to repost, what will get lots of comments". Maybe wasn't that, and even if it was that's fine. There is also room to be cynical and negative here, just in a more humane way than twitter.
