And I LOVE Maine's proximity to Canada. I've been lucky to have to work in Canada a bunch over a couple of decades. I've spent a few months each in Quebec, BC, and Nova Scotia. I've been to Ontario but haven't spent much time there. NS is incredible. My wife wants to live there.

Oh, I know! We live on a lake. I want to see ice, that is when I know Winter is on. I'll probably be in California for a good part of the Winter so I'll miss a lot. I love both places, but Maine is really digging into my soul.
As someone who plays guitar pretty poorly, but loves it, my toxic trait is I hear a riff and I'll obsess over it until I can sit down and try to figure it out. Often not even a whole song. Yesterday it was the outro to The Beatles "You Never Give Me Your Money". 3 measures stuck in my brain.
We have similar weather down here in Maine today. Me, as a California native, is always thrilled with the novelty of cold weather. Mainers always shake their heads in disgust when I say "Dang, it is getting nice and cold". I guess if I lived in Winter for my whole life, I'd be sick of it, too.

My little town of Winthrop, Maine has one of the finest small town libraries I've come across. Amazing Graphic Novel section, cook book section, DIY section. They have a 3D printer and very knowledgable librarians.
