This is an in-progress sculpture of a torso of a pregnant woman dancing. The wood is English Boxwood, at least 50 years old and extremely dense and hard. One of the hardest woods I have ever carved, up there with ebony and lignum vitae.

It’s been a minute since I last carved a spoon. My daughter gave me the design idea. It’s carved in black walnut, and finished with food safe Osmo Oil.

Yes, I went outside to see if I could see anything because I thought it was an explosion or maybe an accident.

I heard it and thought it might have been an explosion and so I went outside to look.

I remember learning from a friend’s dad who was a tool and die maker that his whole career was designing cardboard boxes. It blew my mind at the time because I thought a box was just a square πŸ˜ƒ

I really thought today’s game was the best game I have ever seen. I think the 2026 team wins of the 4 you mentioned.

The range of responses from academics towards AI is striking. On the one side a liberal arts faculty member at my university said there is no future for university education. On the other, the President of Mt Allison U says AI means liberal arts are more valuable. I’m on the side of hope.

Yes I am a university Registrar. Yes I am a stereotypical woodworker. I enjoy both! It’s not often I get to bring those two worlds together but this week I did when I restored TWU’s Board Room table (just the edges).
