Oh man. I've never been around Downtown Disney / Disney Springs during race weekends, but for a long long time there Downtown Disney was one of my favorite low-cost places to visit when I lived there.
They started out that way. They've regressed, and I've not held them to task.
I've also been working 60+ hour weeks, we've had several major emergencies (both house and health) in the 2 years since we moved to OH, and we're trying to Reno the house.
They just slowly stopped acting like they cared.
I've been more than reasonable. I've been a pushover. Not any longer. I can't risk letting them continue to disregard the health and safety of the house for their social lives. Full stop. They get on board or they leave in a U-Haul.
How's that for reasonable?
Considering they drive my car and are on my cell phone plan, they don't want to leave. They don't want to lose those free perks. They don't want to lose being 20-somethings with no bills and built in babysitting for the 5 year old.
But it will be their choice. Their actions will speak for them.
It will be their choice. They can choose to stop belittling their siblings, they can choose to use solid risk assessment for leaving the house & follow strict protocols when they do, they can choose to start helping around the house like they live here, & they be family, or they can leave.
I'm drawing up a house contract. I'm going to be That Guy. They will see how reasonable I've been, ESPECIALLY when Mrs. AP & I are both high risk for respiratory illnesses.
They're going to start displaying empathy, helping around the house, and paying toward the communal good ... or they're out.
They don't contribute anything toward the mortgage. They don't contribute toward any of the bills. They don't do any of the house chores. Mrs. AP & I were lax while giving them time to get back on their feet. It's been nearly 4 years. They've made no effort. We're unreasonable?
We took her and our oldest back in ~4 years ago, when their roommates refused to take safety precautions for COVID. Now they're refusing to take safety precautions for anything, when 5 different infections are spiking in our area & E.R.s have day-long waits.
