Raps seem super content to let the Cavs just kill the clock on this game. No pushback, no urgency. Pounding the paint for 2s, down 20.

Pathetic

If they played like this vs the Knicks, they'd be down 40. Silver lining?

Can't recall a 4v5 matchup as skewed as this one.

Good for Shead bouncing back from a tough end to the season.

Hilarious review on this one

Cleveland is shooting it better, on more attempts from 2, 3, and the line, while out-rebounding the Raps on both ends, and the Cavs have more Stocks. They have completely removed fast break offense.

Total domination in every aspect of the game.

Feels like the Cavs could win this series 10 different ways but the Raps need a very specific set of things to happen in order to be competitive.

Scottie has to take that strong.

You don't think this culture is coming straight from Rogers? It seems like Pelley's primary directive was cut costs and remove "waste."

It's telling that the piece was co-authored by 3 senior writers, to avoid one person getting repercussions from the organization.

Rogers doesn't care about icing a winning team, only the bottom line. Pelley is doing what Ed Rogers wants. The Leafs have an ownership problem and it's not going away.

Today, the NDP is calling on the Carney government to implement a national ban on surveillance pricing - before it becomes a predatory new normal in Canadian life.

Canadians are already being squeezed by the untenable cost of living. It’s time to stop the practice dead in its tracks.

Can someone explain to me why sourdough is having a cultural moment? I don't get it.

In my fantasy pool finals this week and the Canes are resting their stars against CHI tonight (I have Aho and Svech). I get it, but it sucks.

Usually run into this in game 81 or 82, not game 78. They'll most certainly rest again too, could easily cost me a couple hundred bucks.

Cry more, I know

Ok slight mood uplift in that Keith Pelley says the people he's going to hire are "going to have to be data-centric." I'm on board with data-centric

I'm there with you, I've never felt this apathetic. Didn't watch a full game this season, I would have been a toddler the last time that was the case...

To be fair, I'm good with the other options on the list, especially Pridham/Mehta/Spezza for GM. I desperately want the org to take a forward-thinking approach and not make a dino hire. They should be throwing a blank cheque at Tulsky for President, as an example.

Maple Leafs GM search: An early list of candidates Brad Treliving is out. Who will take over? A very early list of potential candidates to lead the Maple Leafs.

Kloke wrote a piece:

The catharsis from firing Treliving has quickly been replaced with existential dread, as I see Doug Armstrong being touted as the front-runner for President. Patrik Allvin being named as a GM candidate while his team is dead last with FIFTY (50!) points is just offensive.

for me, the legacy of the Treliving era is that a large portion of Leafs fans got exactly what they wanted after Dubas.
They got their GM, their coach, their players
and here we are

Treliving is leaving the Leafs in a similar state to how he left the Flames. In fucking shambles. Who among us....

Have to assume it was the trade deadline that spurred them to this because otherwise the timing is stupid. I still don't trust Pelley at all but at least we aren't going to pretend that this season was an aberration. Bad GM + bad coach = bad team. Easy part underway, hard part upcoming.

Raptors went on a 31-0 run tonight against the Magic, the largest unanswered scoring run by a team in the 30 seasons that we have play-by-play data.

The previous NBA record was the Mavs' 30-0 run vs Thunder in December 2023.

I was always okay with Keefe but when Boston fired Cassidy in 2022, I thought it could be pertinent to bring him into Toronto (receipts gone since Twitter is dead).

With Berube proving to be literally the worst coach in the entire league, the Leafs should be the first ones picking up the phone now.

The Leafs got out-shot 38-13 by the Blues??? If Treliving or Berube survive this season, they've got blackmail on Pelley.

I'm sure this isn't a hot take at this point of the tournament but I don't see how Cam Boozer's game translates to the NBA unless he can be a hell of a defender. Offensively, needs to add a lot to the toolkit.
