(this is a public post that serves as a follow-up to a previous post regarding unemployment -> https://ko-fi.com/post/life-update-unemployment-K3K21QGJBL) so, it's been a couple of months now, and a lot has changed in that short amount of time. i still don't have a job for the time being, however: - i've been classified as having "limited capability for work", meaning i will be receiving additional help looking for something that is more suitable for me, and i recieved some additional backpay to account for a work allowance (a set amount i can earn without being penalised). currently, i am focusing on looking for part time work right now. - in january i took on a warehouse training course and passed, and last week i took on a basic forklift training course and passed, meaning i have some additional Desirable skills that i'm hoping i can leverage in my job hunt. - i've not been working as much on fragment merch during this time, but i have been working a lot on stickers - i've been using the spare time i've gained from unemployment to go on more sticker adventures locally, and hope to continue to do so over the coming months. my current plan in my head is to effectively do a traditional part time job, and then dedicate more time to fragment in the other spare time available. whether this will actually work or not remains to be seen.
i'm seeing if i can work on some new merch again now that some of the big stuff has cleared - these include some new a6 notebooks, some new rectangular canvases, and a smaller, cheaper form of the sticker pack that consists solely of "HELLO MY NAME IS" / "sloganless" stickers. i'm also interested in the idea of doing sticker trades again to try and diversify the stickers i have in my stashes - if this seems like something that interests you, do get in touch! i'm also currently seeing what i can plan right now in terms of appearances at future events, either just as a normal attendee or as a staller. currently, as a normal attendee, i'll be appearing at Exeter Pride on 9th May, NOVA 2026 (in Budleigh Salterton) from 12th to 14th June, and Electromagnetic Field (Eastnor Castle Deer Park) from 16th to 19th July, so if you see me at any of these, feel free to come over and say hi! i've also applied to appear as an artist at this year's Upfest (Bristol), which is basically the whole back half of May, though that is still pending as of yet. from here on out, at least while i'm unemployed, i'm gonna try and do these life updates every couple of months or so just to keep track of where i'm at with things and try to keep myself in check on the things i aim to do. current priority is getting the new merch finished and doing more local sticker adventures.
