Sometimes fish have a mind of their own.
Beautiful morning. #flyfishing
Here are a few more 😀
Home for a few days between fishing trips...some pics of my wife and friends and dog and me from our recent outings....life is good. #flyfishing #dogs
Such a beautiful place.
My wife and I had a great time chasing tarpon, bonefish, snook, and permit in Belize. Some guided and some DIY. We also hiked to waterfalls in the jungle and searched the country for the best coconut mojito🤔. We are already planning a return trip. #flyfishing #flytying
Recently got a trail cam for the back yard….proving to be a worthwhile investment.
I am working on accomplishing that tonight 👍
Well.....the one I lost fell between the planks of the pier as I was rigging up. That was my first trip there. Subsequent trips I have lost some to mangroves and trees---but I probably tie 10 for every one I lose. I actually bought bigger boxes to house flies for the upcoming trip 😁
Belize trip soon. (Not soon enough 😇). A few spots left in the box for crabs- but I’m pretty sure I have enough. My first trip there I took 100 flies and came back with 99😂 #flyfishing #flytying #bonefish #tarpon #permit #belize
My lovely wife braved the cold and took the old dog out skiing and fishing this weekend😉 #flyfishing #skiing #dogs
flexo tubing
Thanks.....I have learned a little more with each one I tie. I have several that aren't picture worthy as I figure out how best to use the materials.
Tying these has me starting to get excited about in upcoming saltwater trip. #fyfishing #flytying #permit #Belize
Had a great first day of fishing for 2025....good friends, blue sky, nice fish, and wildlife. #flyfishing
It’s a pretty cool spot
Thanks. Yes, it is. I’ve been doing annual trips there for several years.
I have tied some with Kapok for dubbing and some with standard dubbing---I am interested in how well the two compare on the water.
I really think there is a different consideration....I once treated my comparaduns with water repellant....and I didn't like how the fish reacted. I think where they sit in the film makes a difference with selective fish. But visibility does matter.
Regarding favorite.....I have used EP fibers, and recently Fulling Mill Ultra Dry Yarn and MFC Widow's Web.....I think the latter two are basically the same item branded under different names.
I have tied some synthetic with a mixture of white for visibility…..I typically use parachute patterns for visibility….waiting for an opportunity to collect data.
I’m interested in thoughts on comparadun patterns with synthetic wings vs hair. I’ve used hair for a long time and kinda like traditional-but the synthetic is easy and faster to tie. I’ll probably have both in my box moving forward. #flytying #flyfishing
I’m sitting down to tie some flies- not everyone is as enthusiastic as I am. #flyfishing #flytying #dogs
On the way to a (fairly)recent fishing adventure.

When my wife wanted to know how we were getting through....this is the best I could come up with. #rafting #whitewater
