The Kinder Skyline. A full circuit around the escarpment of Kinder Scout, visiting its 3 Trig Points.

It was 16 β€˜map’ miles & 850m of ascent BUT the meanderings between the gritstone outcrops made it feel much further. A day of dramatic views, rock formations, waterfalls & bogs

In April 1997 (29 years ago) I resigned from my job as an area manager with a brewery as my first book - The Inn Way to the Yorkshire Dales - had just been published.

29 years later, I’m still walking the Yorkshire Dales, although now I’m a Mountain Leader guiding groups.

TeamWalking Top Tip:

"Ooooh, this is a bit windy!"

Out on my Wharfedale Three Peaks today. Well, we managed two peaks and then changed plans. The forecast this morning was for sunshine and showers, and winds gusting mid 30s. The reality was mist, rain and very strong winds. We still covered 17 miles with over 1,000m of ascent
