Supporting West Ham this season is torture.

Not surprised. Completely passed me by. Love their sound. Hoping they tour down south soon.

Seems it’s taken me years to discover @sunstackjones.bsky.social but Apple Music finally delivered them to me. Their latest album is some of the best music I’ve heard in years. Part early Verve, part Beck, part early Charlatans, part BJM. Give em a listen, you won’t regret it.

Book 8 of 2025. I was drawn to this book because I live close to the South Downs. It’s strangely compelling. Weaving in and out of her own upbringing & the lives of many over the centuries, it pieces together a small part of the world which has shaped a bigger part of history. Fascinating.

It’s funny (not funny - more fucking outrageous/frustrating) that 99% of people are looking at the situation in Gaza with absolute horror and helplessness but the 1% that can actually do something about it are doing fuck all or nothing with urgency.

Book 7 of 2025 done. Following on from The Satsuma Complex, another comical crime yarn. As you would expect from Bob, quirky, weird, funny but with a friendly easy to read nature. Look forward to the next one.

Another genius who made sounds that inspired a million other sounds. RIP.

Book 6 of 2025 done. Keep on Movin’ would be the ideal soundtrack to Neneh’s life, continually moving from a young age, embracing city cultures, welcoming communities, finding fame and at the heart of it all, family. Her story has sorrow but more sweetness, love, gratitude & fun. Defo recommend.
