Make sure to archive it so I can watch while I’m working next week!
Woah, time flies... 5 years ago, SCRAPPERS launched!
It was such a crazy, hectic and fun project. Felt like we had such a good dynamic while working on this project, that it led to myself, Arioka and Jan to eventually start Denkiworks.
Lil' robots still mean a lot!

Amazing work, Reb. Looking forward to what is next!
i watch a lot of international sports an America is the only place where fights happen and the commentators & crowd react as if it's some sort of ancient, critical meta, and not deeply shameful, embarrassing, and fucking stupid. perhaps this acceptance of violence is relevant given *waves around*
Where have I seen cards in a golf roguelike before? 😅
Looks neat.

"Last sociable acceptable places to be..."
The game ends though.
Man, there's a lot of weirdness about this... (none of it good probably).
However, the biggest take away is LOOK AT THAT MOUSE.
Okay. Finished the series. It’s immense.
Goddamn, they did the impossible The entire tone and whimsy, nonsense adventure of OP is all there, Luffy’s big heart and all! 👏
Ah, the sad news of Shinichiro Sato passing, means today has to be a Pillows day.

Agree to all points raised here.
There's always numerous factors as to why the industry state is the way it is. I think we do have a lot more we can show off the talent here, both native and based. I think it's improving, but yeah if you want to run a business off it, there's a lot more to do.
Blah blah, something all tides raise all ships etc.
I obviously have a stake in this game lol.
Long ramble point - I think the framing here can be less antagonistic and more positive of, let's work together (which many have tried for years to build up, Alvin etc). Being based here is definitely a win in the niche category but in the logistics of business, it's a disadvantage for anyone.
Knowledge can be shared, but the reality is there's a reluctancy from both sides. It's rare for the sides of the "Japan making games industry" to mix. But, I feel that's slowly changing - you mentioned PARCO, but even that's ran by a German and their first published game is by a German team.
I've seen lots and lots like IGI as an example, really starting to push and show J-devs how to basic market a game to an overseas audience and outlets. Which is awesome!
But, I honestly think that the international devs who've been doing it for a long time can be learned from in those instances...
But, that doesn't mean it isn't any less hard to get eyeballs on your game. Especially as a lot of international devs work with Japanese team-members, who by ownership are Japanese indies.
I feel the reality is Japan really is split still between indie, doujin and then business-indie.
We've seen some great examples - Downwell, Ooo, Elechead, And Roger... I mean Cave Story almost entirely started the industry of indie.
I totally get what you mean, but the framing of international devs based in Japan getting more attention, I think is a matter of language convenience for outlets.
I feel many devs here, especially native Japanese, would be much more inclined to want to be covered by let's say Famitsu/Denfami/GameSpark etc. Than international outlets, as they don't know those benefits.
It's the same as sales, good game doesn't immediate equate to coverage. Same for all games
Thank you I appreciate that.
But, the games industry is tough enough. The reality is, it's hard work and going above and beyond that's the only reality to getting any coverage. Nobody is designated coverage. I feel language barrier is the biggest issue here also the traditional nature of coverage.
Sounds like maybe you were also complaining? Haha.
Maaaaannnn, do I have so many thoughts about what you've written here. I wouldn't even know where to start.
Man, they did my boy Usopp and little garden SO GOOD in the live action. Nailed it.
I can’t believe, as a die hard OP fan that the live action hits me as hard. For all the prior cynicism, they’re getting it so right 👍
I meaaaannn you know what I meaaaannnn.
DEATH OF THE MIDDLE.
I actually like this area of Kyoto haha.
We found more! If you know what TANUKI: Pon's Summer looks like now... let me take you back 3 years ago🥹
You've got to start somewhere! Even if the vibe is there, or the idea. You can get it across even with, terrible, terrible, terrible assets (DON'T NEED AI 😡).
Fun to look back on.
You can now get my entire LIFE'S WORK for 93% off... 😅⛳
It's Bunta, before Bunta even existed haha.
Haha oh the poor publishers who had sit through meetings with me begging them it will look better… eventually 🥹
I saw a fair amount of the "make it first" posts yesterday. Coincidentally our designer found an old prototype thread yesterday, that fits the billing pretty well.
You've just got to explore ideas, you don't know where they will lead.
And yeah, in blue, that's Gonzo from windwaker... 😅
