This person wrote a masterβs thesis on The Sims 2βs pink soup bug and also posted a fix that potentially addresses it. All I can say is that The Sims 2 community is the best: github.com/spockthewok/...

New #TheSims4 mods and tools vs. ModGuard, with known issues + IMPORTANT INFO about what to avoid if you want to use a mod manager or mod "health" tool - ESPECIALLY as new-to-Sims people are popping up out of nowhere with them (and even charging money!)

Surprise! It's #TheSims4 patch 1.123! This is a minor patch for PC (a bigger one for console). However, there IS a new Broken/Updated Mods & CC thread for it. Remember to FOLLOW the thread to get notifications of (almost daily) new info!

Creating for The Sims should not be a perma-paywalled hobby.
Anyway, here's a free tutorial on how to edit in-game images like Photos, Tattoos, and even Werewolf and Pet textures. It's really simple, and you can do it with literally no modding knowledge whatsoever!

The tool by James Turner
to help disable Sims 4 packs has been update so you can piece together the string for the new method: jamesturner.yt/disablepacks
This is specific to having the Royalty EP installed.
This is timely! Using it now to test whether a particular mod problem is related to having a particular pack installed.
Since the method to disable packs in EA app/steam currently doesn't work, I've added another method to disable your packs to my blog post
sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2017/03/...
You can find it under the tab 'in the user files'

I've updated my post on how to disable Sims 4 packs now: sims4.crinrict.com/eng/2017/03/...
Be aware that Steam/EA app disabling currently doesn't work.
German post will follow..
And it's the end of "Failed to Launch"! Extra info you might need here: www.patreon.com/posts/153750...
Patch notes: www.ea.com/games/the-si...
You really do want to read those.
Those of you who had "Failed to launch" or a solid black wordless main menu ---- it's go time! Update your game!

Good Morning,
the only cc issue currently tracked in the Sims 4 bug forum is the failed to load/complete black screen with cc only. For everything else the rules still apply: Test on vanilla and report issues with mods in the mods fourm.
Thank you.
If you have bought a pack and it's not showing up in your game, please go to Marketplace > My Collection and make sure it's enabled.
Bug report for this is here: forums.ea.com/idea/the-sim...
Do you get a Content not Installed message when trying to load something from the gallery ? Use this thread: forums.ea.com/idea/the-sim...
Check this! A fix is coming!
If you have "Failed to Launch" OR complete black screen on launch (no words) OR missing CC over the weekend, please consider just taking the weekend to do other things.
And thank you for moral support and testing help this last couple of days!
#TheSimsNews #TheSims4
If it rebreaks, please head to the EA thread with info and files! The people who have had loading sometimes and not others are useful edge cases.
NOTE: It is NOT yet known if this will work for all players or will STAY working. But there's a chance of that.
AFTER you've helped out with trying to solve this for others -- trying to find what started it (it didn't affect all of us!!) -- try this fix:
- rename your user folder (Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4)
- restart the game and exit
- copy CC FILES into NEWLY CREATED subfolders
Having the "Failure to Launch" message when you try to start #TheSims4 with your CC folders in? Please see forums.ea.com/discussions/... . We're looking for your user folders.
This is proving a complex issue. Simmers can help narrow it down.
Ah! Merci pour Γ§a, Heidi!
The fix for this is rolling out from EA. I've got a few initial Broken Mod reports out on forums.ea.com/discussions/... now. Lots, lots more news to come later today when I'm back from a long meeting an hour away.

Oh, gotcha.
EACN members get free packs all the time. This is similar. We aren't required to install them (or to use Moola), and we aren't required to review anything. And if we do, we're regularly reminded that we aren't required to say anything nice.
Hey, Simmers! Would you all PLEASE stop reporting "bugs" when you didn't remove your mods.

The pack selection has moved from the options menu to My collection in the marketplace

Because I personally don't have access to other options. It's now got better messaging.
