"Watch media made for adults/outside your comfort zone"! isn't enough! Recommend books/videos about writing! There are plenty!!
CAN be the case sometimes but not mostly because even a person with a diverse media palette can succumb to writing issues. What's frustrating about this discourse more is no one is giving ACTUAL resources or efficient advice on how to improve dialogue.
The indie animation dialogue discourse happening on the bird site reminds me that some fans do not know what they're talking about because most of the time they attribute all "bad" dialogue to the creator having a lack of media palette which-
