Yep, they are money men not builders of any kind

I really hate that anyone can make money this way. Speculation is a scourge.

As someone who’s built things in Silicon Valley and been an engineer/designer in ways you can clearly only consume content about, this is so sad 😂 Posting Silicon Valley promo photos earnestly as if that’s something to aspire to, you’re so late to the party it’s pathetic

HAHAHAHHA oh you’re this kind of poseur! You actually wish you had access to the tech world, how unbelievably sad.

Also, the rich ex-techie is treating moral clarity as a luxury good they’ve bought for themselves now that they have a life of comfort and can afford to take a stand. Think a little bit before you lob incoherent replies.

Excuse me? This isn’t about it being a luxury good. No one who has spent their career working for SCALE AI as a true believer deserves the moral high ground or to be appointed some expert on the ills of Silicon Valley. Stop letting wolves in sheep’s clothing lead you.

I don’t think you have the right mental model of how these LLMs work. Because…no.

He is an opportunist of the highest degree. Right message, wrong messenger!

Oh this makes sense, OP is a speculator not an actual maker of anything

YOU are not automating those tasks, in most cases. You are begging computer to automate those tasks. A computer you RENT access to and therefore are outsourcing your new “skills” to, skills that could disappear with a platform price increase or outage. Deskilling is absolutely happening.

Yeah, if you worked at Palantir, it’s a reflection on your character 100%. Similarly (this one goes out to the latest TrueAnon guest) if you worked at ScaleAI as a true believer, you have no moral authority to write a book called “Abolish Silicon Valley”. You’re either evil or stupid!

Fascism. Complete market capture and unbounded monopolistic control.

1000%. Their feeds and chats say this is popular and good actually!

That whole Palantir thing makes more sense when you position it as marketing to business elites, all of whom are stewing in the same rotten information environment that Palantir is

Got this Ed Zitron ad on Reddit, what a massive joke this guy is

I mean, do you really think the invention of the automobile and the internal combustion engine was a net negative for society? I think that claim requires more defense than you think. This isn’t bike vs car in the big city, this is supply chains.

Yes, in corporate history this absolutely is NOT unprecedented. This is the cycle of technical evolution led by greedy capitalists and corporate fiefdoms.

Also, your algorithm is FAR more personalized now than any time in history. You are seeing AI and LLMs pushed this hard and not observing any utility because that is the bubble that maximizes your engagement. Don’t confuse it for reality! Not to say AI companies and the labor dynamics will be good.

Sorry, it is transformational for software engineering and that’s certainly an irony of it. The real
jobs in danger are the technical creators, if people could learn to clearly articulate problem statements, system architecture and design needs (not clear they can)

You wouldn’t know him, he’s from the Star Wars extended universe

I swear he’s posted this exact tweet before

Just whatever comes across his feed I think

Yeah every “human term” we’ve applied to machines feels like a mistake. Learning, intelligence, expert etc. Should have stuck with math terms 😂

Last day on the Bluesky engineering team, time to apply

This is what knowledge work is going to look like in the future if people keep outsourcing thinking to LLMs

And AI has empowered this Manager Man (easily fooled by reasonable-looking façades) into thinking they are productive members of society because the computer gave them the answers and their entire career has been taking credit for someone else’s work.

That’s tech/finance culture bleeding through for sure. Never done real things, no real expertise, but 100% confident in their position as philosopher king and condescending expert

Let’s tax them out of existence. If you have over 999 million in assets (+equity): no more income for you! 100% tax! Why are you still working? Get a hobby. Contribute to your community in some way. This isn’t a game you can play to win and you’re not going to get enough coins to be God Emperor.

Exactly. He is not lying, he is telling the truth that he doesn’t care about anyone who isn’t peaking in the Mar a Lago situation room and getting their bag at the war crimes casino right now
