In Austerity X, explore a UK town's decline during the day. And witness an even uglier side to it at night. #screenshotsaturday #indiehorror

Strokes tickets, comebacks for Boards of Canada and Massive Attack. Huge day for music. 🔥
One issue I've been plagued with is that the rate of ideas I come up with for games greatly outweighs how fast I can work. Its fine for the most part as I look back on most ideas after a month and they look like shit but occasionally I fixate on one idea and its agonizing...
Morning! Quick #gamedev update!
Past month I've:
-Done a huge refactoring job of 5+ year old code, improved render speed + memory usage massively
-Scrapped my homemade menu code for @MonoGameTeam Gum API
Getting my house in order to prepare the demo! #solodevsurvivor #indiegame
I beat the Resident Evil 3 remake and it made me sad. (Derogatory).
So whose gonna be the first to make an ARG / Creepypasta about Metaverse worlds shutting down.

Petition for Capcom to start adding Night Springs style DLC to Resident Evil. 📺
Finished Alan Wake 2. Phenomenal game overall. The environments and exploring the Dark Place as Alan Wake is where the game is at its best. Every bit of graffiti or sign having something to say. It's a bit spectacle over substance at times but the spectacle is insanely peak. Stellar writing as well.
We've hit 200 wishlists on #AusterityX !
Thank you all for your support! 🫡

Austerity X is a solo developer self funded project, and has been in part time development for about 5 years now. Although I will have future announcements regarding the soundtrack soon!
Plan ahead and fast forward time using your notebook calendar. Pick when to explore, meet up with contacts or begin an investigation. Strange horrors and monsters lurk the streets at night, so be sure to lock your door...
Like most traditional survival horrors, the UI is kept to a minimum. With your health bar represented by your battery life. Nothing worse than running out of phone charge in the UK....
Save the game by making a brew. That's right any kettle you find in the game acts as a save point.
Featuring an open world to explore with a day night cycle + calendar system, build social connections with locals who turn into contacts that aid your journey, find clues that lead to rabbit holes, which are large scale investigations which act as horrific dungeon crawls.
It's election season in the UK. Justine visits Barmford to ask the cross-obsessed locals who they're voting for in this classic survival horror. Find rabbit holes and uncover scandals as you unveil the gruesome reality behind Michael Hallow's 30 year reign as mayor, before the calendar runs out.

Iron Lung was decent 👍 kinda wish the FNAF movie was paced like this (more focus on dramatising the gameplay over the hidden lore).
The search functionality is infinitely better, give backloggd a few letters and it has the general gist of the game you're looking for.
Meanwhile Letterboxd requires a full name and sometimes year, even then it will still give you some random internet series from the 2000s.
One of the reasons AI humour is so cringe is that it gives off the same energy as your friend doing the whole "I had a crazy dream last night" shtick.
Clocking off work/social media for the remainder of 2025.
Thank you to friends & family for being awesome.
Exciting #gamedev announcements coming in January. Stay tuned.🫡
TL:DR: There's a fine line between doom scrolling endlessly and being ignorant. It's important to accurately curate your feeds and what is being served up to you but it is indeed exhausting.
I have made an attempt to stay "in-the-loop" with important news by downloading a few apps (Reuters, FT, AJ) even some local papers. And while it's been ok so far I really don't need to be pinged at 7am about some fella being stabbed from round the corner from me.
Trouble with YouTube is most of the slop doesn't have a defined genre to combat. It really is an influx of "the X situation is crazy", "video essay that is just plot summary" , "misinformed person reacts to" tubers. There are good content creators out there who drown amidst these
Past few weeks I've began actively trying to combat slop social media feeds. I've noticed:
-Following tab is way more peaceful than For You
-Instagram is purely Ads these days
-Youtube algo is screwed
-Most news is news not worth knowing
-Anger is the driving force of engagement
Had a Fire Emblem itch so attempted Awakening on lunatic and I couldn't even get passed Chapter 1. 😭
Wdym the "ruffians" have two mages with Elwind and Elthunder and every axe fella two shots Chrom.
