It Was on Your Table Every Morning Growing Up. It’s Dying Before Our Eyes. No One Wants to Face It. The powerhouse of American citrus is suffering a brutal decline. Everyone has a theory about why.

This is a nightmare: the destruction of Florida's orange industry. Tariffs, drought, deep freezes and a bacteria that is destroying the trees. They have lost 95% of production since 2003.
3/4s of growers are out of business. This is the dangerous eco-future staring us.

The first panel shows a crow with the title "How to live a good life". The second panel shows a crow cawing at itself in the mirror with the subheading "Make friends". The next panel says "Explore" and shows a crow looking into a commercial waste bin. The next says "Try new things" with a crow eating something vile. The next one says "Be curious" and shows the crow grabbing a hissing cat's tail". The final frame says "Get a hobby" and shows the crow looking closely at a book of matches.

Tim Curry Breaks Down His Most Iconic Roles
Tim Curry Breaks Down His Most Iconic Roles YouTube video by The Academy

Aww, this such a great little video. #TimCurry, while not in the greatest of health, is still such a wonderful storyteller as he reflects on some of his most iconic roles.

Happy 80th birthday to a legend.

This was just lovely. I've seen many of his movies & it's a testament to his great skills as an actor how he immersed himself & became those characters for us so much so that we "forgot" it was #TimCurry. Was not prepared for how emotional this made me viewing it. Still has a great sense of humour.

Mile End Kicks' Québécois cast members on language politics and Montreal summer energy We spoke with the Québécois cast members of Chandler Levack's Mile End Kicks about language politics and Montreal summer energy.

“Je me souviens,” but it’s 2011 and everybody’s wearing American Apparel disco pants and skinny jeans.

Two hooded figures with lamps approach a moonlit, isolated cottage.
A woman answers the door.
We have come for the child, says the hooded figure
So soon? she asks
It is time, says the hooded figure.
The woman is distraught. We should never have got him a library card!
What is done cannot be undone, says the hooded figure
We couldn’t see the harm! We just wanted him to enjoy reading!
For most, it ends there, says the hooded figure, turning away and walking into the wilderness
Oh lord, What have I done! says the woman,
the child walks past her and out into the darkness with them.
Do not cry mother.
I am a writer now.

Today is the 25th anniversary of Canadarm2 launching to the International Space Station

If you look on the back of a Canadian $5 bill, you’ll see it

Without Canada’s expertise in robotic arms, you could argue we wouldn’t have earned our seat on Artemis II. Thank you Canadarm2! 🫡

How to train your brain to see possibility instead of doom Our minds evolved to minimise unpredictability. But if we learn to live with doubt, a world of opportunities opens up

How to train your brain to see possibility instead of doom www.theguardian.com/books/2026/a...

Uncertainty also fuels spread of bunk!

"In a rapidly changing world, the ability to tolerate uncertainty may be one of our most important cognitive skills. It protects against both paralysis & delusion."

I used to be a bit obsessed about the tidiness. Quite a few years ago I replaced my entire front yard with perennial plants & shrubs - makes it easier to get at all the unwanted weeds. I leave the dandelions in the backyard for the bees & probably mow now once a month starting in June thru October.

I'm already reminding my neighbours of #NoMowMay and the perils to pollinators when we start cleaning up and raking in our gardens and yards too early come Spring. The urge is there to get at it I know but don't give in and spread the word!!

Hungary's New PM Just Showed Us What Courage Looks Like. Where's Ours? Hypothetically, if I was elected President, here are the opening salvos of restoration

Hungary just elected a new PM who wasted zero time — he shut down state propaganda, called out the corrupt officials by name, and started the reckoning on day one. It made me want to write down exactly what that should look like here. So I did.

Safety First 🌙 Good news! NASA’s Webb Telescope has officially ruled out a potential 2032 lunar impact for asteroid 2024 YR4. Thanks to Webb’s extreme sensitivity, we now know it will safely pass the Moon, giving future astronauts and satellite operators peace of mind. 🛡️ #NASA #JWST #SpaceSafety 1/2

How lovely! I see the odd White-Throated Sparrow around here. I do have a friendly Song Sparrow who sings on the fence after every peanut is offered and accepted. I hope he/she returns once temperatures warm up some.

My family is all there, so we thought it would be great to go down for them.

Oh. my. god. The prices of these tickets. Closing Ceremonies? $5k
Handball? $400
