'81-'82 Fiat 124 Spider Turbo. In truth, this car breathed life into something that was starting to trail behind in its segment. But for the American market it may have been too late, since just after this car's release, Fiat abandoned the US market and left Pininfarina to market the car themselves as the Azzuro (and the turbo model was also dropped). About 700 Turbos were made between '81 and '82.
'81-'82 Fiat 124 Spider Turbo. The addition of a turbocharger gave the car a wild 0-60 sprint of 9 seconds. Whew! And that was with 120 horses, up from about 100. This maybe made it marginally faster than some of the competition. Interestingly, when Pininfarina began marketing the car, they replaced the Turbo variant with a 133HP supercharged variant, sold only in Euro-markets.
