Mechs vs. Minions Is Returning to Print In October 2016, Riot Games — a video game developer best known for League of Legends — released the co-operative board game Mechs vs. Minions, an in-house design from Chris Cantrell, Rick Ernst, Stone Librande, Prashant Saraswat, and Nathan Tiras that was well-loved by gamers and that has been out of print since 2020. On April 7, 2026, U.S. publisher Incredible Dream announced that it's entered a partnership with Riot Games for the co-publication of a new edition of _Mechs vs. Minions_ , with details on pricing, pre-sales, and production to be announced later in 2026, although the press release does state that Incredible Dream "will publish the 10th anniversary edition globally with product expansions to meet different player needs". I hate that we need to keep repeating it, but tools that steal copyrighted work are ethically atrocious and should not be allowed to thrive. Generative AI tools that steal copyrighted work are wrong on every level. Pam Walls' video explains this perfectly: youtu.be/Ci5pOjyJknI?...

This entire grift relies on convincing people that they don't know how to do the things they have always known how to do, and ironically, if it works, we will, in a very short amount of time, forget how to do all the things we have always known how to do.

It says a lot that AI “artists” are so creatively bankrupt they think writing prompts is a difficult, arduous task.

You realize coming up with a prompt is what a real artist would call “having an idea,” right?

It took them weeks of sleepless nights to have some basic thoughts.

There was a post on the Board Game Reviewers & Media Facebook group about a big channel taking a stance on not covering games with generative AI art. Most replying said 'Hey, good on them, that's a great stance to have", and I have the same stance. Some of the replies though... 🧵

Should we assume UKGE is pro gAI and doesn't care for artists without whom the con wouldn't exist?
