‘Michael’ Review: Not Quite a Thriller of a Biopic This dutiful biography of the King of Pop has great music and not much else.

Michael is a very strange object, a high-energy celebration of a complicated figure that doesn’t even attempt to grapple with any of the allegations leveled against him in the 1990s and 2000s. Instead, it ignores them entirely.

Nothing makes me want to watch a movie more than a trolling reminder of my mortality.
