💥🇭🇺🗳️ BREAKING: Péter Magyar says Viktor Orbán called to concede and congratulate him.

Magyar will be Hungary’s next prime minister and, as it stands, is set to secure a 2/3 supermajority – enough to fully dismantle Orbán’s system.

A 16-year chapter is over.

Corny, yes, but for the day that's in it...

As of noon, the Irish grid is looking about as green as it gets: high winds along with high exports have pushed renewable generation to roughly 90% of the island's electricity demand so far today.

Very good article, but the one point not made is that by moving people to using electricity only rather than gas or oil for heating, even if the kWh consumption stays similar, the electrical grid is cleaner, and getting cleaner than burning a carbon source.

Reading was the key to breaking through the fog of my parents' dementia | Jo Glanville It was hard to communicate with my mother or father, until reading a book out loud led to a discovery, says journalist and radio producer Jo Glanville

I think regardless of your stance on the larger issue of assisted dying, this is a very worthwhile read for anyone with a friend or relative with dementia, and might open some new ways of connection. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

Blaming the weather man for the weather while spending the last 4 decades willfully ignoring climate science to the extent we face billions in fines because of EU emissions rules. A government of out and out grifters and clowns.

If they were to repurchase their houses, post woks, at the same price as they sell them now, I could see their neighbours who didn’t launch a judicial appeal having something to see about relative devaluing of their homes

Yeah, I wouldn’t be immensely surprised. But still, at some pointing throwing money at a problem to move forward is a valid solution

It’s very socially interesting - they will lose an amount of their identity by selling up. It’s good for the country to do this, money is relatively cheap now, and it removes the benefit to the objectors (good transport)
