@alastaircampbell2.bsky.social loved listening to your discussion of Just War today - have been revising that recently with my year 9 students (many of whom could give you a really good breakdown on all the principles of Just War and why Vance is wrong).

Beautiful evening dog walk - William Yard & the Sound both looking gorgeous...
@Thesiltverses was hands down the best strange horror podcast I've ever heard. Never found anything as good: now the same team have something new. "Our wars have ended".
1st episode bodes well: comprehensive & imaginative world building, sophisticated language and some genuinely revolting ideas...
"A state sponsored ethnic cleansing"
Former Israeli general Yaakov Orr in a detailed and scathing account of the Israeli cabinet's policy to empty large parts of the West Bank of its Palestinian population. (Hebrew).

I think you're missing an important contribution to the "Songs about trains" genre - Saxon's "Princess of the Night". Absolute banger. share.google/pEzl4xNbawxB...
RIP Andy Kershaw - my favourite ever thing he did was this amazing report from the '84 Donnington Monsters of Rock. A classic of the genre.

If you're looking for a fantastic podcast - these will tick a lot of boxes. Intelligent and nuanced refreshing of Lovecraft stories, with a twist of Contemporary Black Helicopters, and some well informed occulture input. The stories that got me into listening to podcasts & are fresh on revisit.
Thanks, means a lot.
Have been doing headstones this week. Got to carve this name (apparently a descendent of the renaissance Magus). Very cool. #Lettercutting
They should. It's bloody awesome.
I broke a rib on the barrier at Motörhead in my 40s.
You've just got to keep on rocking though.
So this is right wing grifters + reenchantment?
Won't end well.
(& The quiet revival is bollocks)
Do you know the "Hurricane 2000" version - Scorpions and the Berlin Symphony! Bloody brilliant.
Surely you've seen this...
("I have seen this, and don't call me Shirley")
These are amazing. Though I can get through one in a month (I eat a lot of Dal).
Awesome discovery! "All for one" etc. (If you're a Neal Stephenson fan - "Pikes on the Dikes")

Beowulf.
Incense smoke from a beach pebble censer, and a Camelia flower, with the high tide and sunset behind.
Radio 4 really dropped the ball by inviting Sacerdoti on the world at one as the voice of populist Islamaphobia. I laughed when. I heard him refer to his propaganda as a "nuanced and informed" approach to this debate...
Eid Mubarak to all my friends celebrating the festival.
Glorious evening dog walk at the Royal William Yard tonight.
Bloody hell. What a miserable excuse for a human.
Tonight's 5k the fastest since before I started Cancer treatment!
Or all those Catholic Monks, Hindu Sadhus and Buddhist Bhikkus. No introspection there either. What an idiot.
Blimey. This just popped up on my phone. Literally a year ago today - the late, great Phil Campbell & the Bastard Sons in Exeter...
RIP Phil.
Thank you!
Dal, in all it's glorious forma and variations...
Fucking hell, Phil Campbell and Jürgen Habermas in one day?
(A niche Venn diagram I grant you)
Not at all sure what's going on here...
