I love the iPhone camera’s portrait mode, but feel like it’s a bit aggressive with the depth of field. However, opening the photo in edit mode and dialing it back to f8 usually results in something looking like it was shot with proper glass.
Some of these tools only have a single purpose, needed once. And that’s ok.
Personal: single user. Atomic: single use case. Ephemeral: one-time use.

Kicked off a reading spree on Christmas and just finished my 13th book (Dungeon Crawler Carl and Bobiverse series). Forced me to significantly reduce my compulsive after-work creative endeavors and gather inspiration and perspective.
Gathered all of my non-work work in one place (to turn it into a website), and had AI review it. Ngl this is going on my LinkedIn. “You design objects people want to hold, and your aesthetic lives at the intersection of Swiss precision and skate-shop energy.”
I loved the book and was worried they’d mess up the movie. Happy to be wrong.
Yeah I’m sure there are reasons people like them, but I’m a simple guy and prefer single-purpose devices and owning the epub files.
Holy hell why would anyone want an Android-based ereader?? Got the Boox Go 7 and sending it right back. The software is constantly fighting the operating system and the thing needs to boot every time you pick it up. My 8y old Kobo Aura One blows this thing out of the water.
