It's becoming impossible to find a car without a gigantic iPad, it's exhausting.

Hey I'm gonna need the universe to start blessing my friends ASAP.
It seems like everyone I love and care about got handed some garbage cards in the last week.
Take care of your peeps, the world can be shitty but we'll always have one another.
In short: the place you sleep at should be a little annoying or boring at times so you feel encouraged to go hang out with a friend somewhere else. It should feel easy to go out and do a thing that brings you joy and connects you to other humans.
Don't even get me started on going on vacation and my hatred of resorts/too fancy hotels.
Traveling to a new city, and then having all of these amenities that tempt you into never leaving your hotel, that's not going to be helping the tourism industry other than whatever mega corp owns the hotel
And that's the thing, if you want to make friends and you want to have community, that means that you have to leave your house on a very regular basis. Not just in the summer when it's nice out.
Folks don't just appear knocking on your door like a trick-or-treater asking for friendship.
Even things that seem extra, like my pottery wheel. I refuse to buy a kiln, because this forces me to still attend classes or be involved in a studio space with a kiln to get me out of the house.
I have some fitness equipment here, but not enough to have a full gym routine at home.
For example, my mom really wanted me to get a TV. And I told her no, because any show that I want to watch is worth me finding other people who would also want to watch it and we can meet up somewhere to watch it.
I wanted my home to be just a little bit inconvenient.
I could talk about this all day, because I really did try to make my home comfortable yet boring, so that I am never encouraged to just stay home alone.
Because I wanted to be cozy and have all of the things I need to eat, sleep, feel like I can be myself. But nothing extra.
And the county (Hennepin) too! Our HIN map shows corridors with current projects happening between now and 2030, as well as color coded tracking for future project areas.
Because even our suburban and rural corridors can be safer for all road users!
"All bicyclists must dismount" sign altered to say "all bicyclists get discount."

Check out the song Look at Me, Gwisoon. It's so fun and catchy
So here was one of Daesung's songs last night
youtu.be/ic5lcMuetF4?...
Lizzy (another famous Kpop singer) had a trot song a few years ago too youtu.be/ipouIsX1phI?...
And a non-trot song, this is how BigBang started their set last night
youtu.be/2ips2mM7Zqw?...
Trot got huge in the 60s and 70s (post war especially). Trot has some folk elements, and was influenced by traditional instruments but also jazz and other Western music bits.
It's been kinda older people music in Korea, because it has some nostalgic feeling to it. But it's not slow or boring!
Daesung is a member of the Kpop group BigBang (20 years of making music!) and they performed at Coachella last night.
And he did two Trot songs. Trot is an older music genre, it has a really distinct 2 beat rhythm and is big with older audiences. Trot music started in the 30s
Daesung bringing trot music to Coachella wasn't on my bingo card for 2026 but this is incredible.

Maybe? But more it changed my thoughts on how much time to get to a thing.
And my relationship with the weather is considerably different. Small differences in temperature or humidity levels have a big impact on what outfit I pick out for my commute
.
I can't believe I almost forgot!
Today marks one year since I got rid of my car.
Bikes, buses, trains, walking, and accepting the occasional ride. It's been pretty magical.
NASA just dropped this image of Artemis II astronaut Christina Koch looking back at us. The first woman to ever see our planet in its entirety. I’m not crying you’re crying 🥹🔭🧪 📸: NASA
Auction site, showing a black small obelisk pendant on a necklace. Listing description states "Evervibes Obelisk Pendant for Witchcraft or something"
My personal favorite listing on the auction site.
"or something"
A chart from al Jazeera showing the crew of the Artemis II (and the ROCKET itself). They are Reid Wiseman, 50. Victor glover, 49. Christina Koch, 47. Jeremy Hansen, 50.
People wanna say you're washed up by middle age, but the YOUNGEST person on this moon mission is 47.
It's #30DaysOfBiking!
We're on vacation but the city of New Orleans has some fabulous shared ebikes (yay @bluebikesnola.bsky.social) so Ian could hop over to a kayak bayou tour and I could work from a coffee shop for a couple hours.
Tomorrow, bike to beignets?
A pair of orange and white striped traffic cone shaped stud earrings and a pair of black socks featuring a series of drawings of potholes. One pothole has a half-submerged traffic cone in it. Another pothole has swallowed half of a sedan.
Didn't expect to find some hot transportation planner merch in New Orleans on this trip, but here ya go.
Oh hell yeah I get to go on a train tomorrow
Okay so the walking pad was a game changer. I'm 1.5 miles into this webinar and I have never felt so focused in one of these sessions before.
Photo of a woman wearing a helmet standing with a road bicycle. She's surrounded by men wearing overcoats and hats, a few boys wearing shorts, and at least one woman. There's a stuffed koala teddy bear mounted on the handlebars of the bicycle. Photo by Sam Hood.
Billie Samuel was the first woman to cycle from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia. On her return journey, she broke the women's world record for the fastest ride from Sydney to Melbourne.

9 times out of 10, you go on a little boring walk around the neighborhood and nothing happens. You get to pet a dog or meet a neighbor, you get your steps in.
But occasionally, you might see something worth reporting and tracking. You don't have to engage, but just keeping an eye out is huge.
They are still here. And by taking a walk and keeping your eyes open, you can help keep our neighbors safe.
You see a weird SUV, snap a pic of the license plate, take some mental notes, check in with a local response group, report sightings. It all matters.
