Sat down with my friend (& fabulously talented Australian author) @madeleinedeste.bsky.social re: the buzz (& awards/nominations) for her contemporary-Gothic mystery novella Radcliffe (from Deadset Press), her work, the power of place in fiction, and her life.

April 8, 2024. A few miles of water vapor defeats the awesome power of the sun. I never want to hear some knucklehead say "How can paper beat rock?" again.

I love doing playlists for my published works. As an anthology, OVERDUE: MYSTERY, ADVENTURE & THE WORLD'S LOST BOOKS, let me do something special.

I asked my all my coauthors to contribute a couple tracks & commentary to this remarkable collaborative playlist.

HOWARD WALDROP
(1946-2024)

Join us in taking a moment to observe the passing of Howard Waldrop. A titan of the Texas SFF scene, he was a powerful influence on the broader genre & received the 2021 World Fantasy Award for Lifetime Achievement.

His absence will be sorely felt.

I give you the playlist for her new novella, Radcliffe.
