Was first pick, started Wurmcoil Engine and players made inroads into basically every broken strategy. Red was wide open so I committed.

2/22: Cube For a Cause Free Play - Last Stand of the Khans

Drafted this Mardu desert cube: P1P1 Nomad Outpost. Cube is very bomby, I just wanted to curve out into my busted 5 drops.

Ended up in a RW deck that attacked well and lasted into the late game. Lifelink was a great keyword here.

2/22: Cube For a Cause Round 3 - Strixhaven Study Abroad

Some cards have additional text: Lesson or Learn. Ended up in UB Zombies. Deck was very synergistic + tons of Learn cards. No Way Out is great as a lesson. I made a mistake during the draft taking Bladestiched Skaab over Doom blade.

2/21: Cube For a Cause Round 2 - Sky and Sea

Busted deck that flickered Venser/Man o' War/Thundertrap for great value with Naban to double my triggers. At one point I bounced all of my opponent's lands to hand.

Unfortunately lost to Merfolk - Champions of the Shoal is a house and I stumbled.

2/21: Cube For a Cause Round 1 - Kolósaio

1-2 with a tokens-y Mardu build. Felt like I barely made playables and card quality was solid but not great. Mana was not super consistent for my BB cards. Died on coverage to RW heroic, beat an aggro deck, and then lost to a big multicolor control pile

2/18/26: 2-1 in the UMA+ cube! Started with lab man and Kiora, but artifacts were open. Imotekh was the best card in the deck.

Lost in the finals to a great deck with Summon: Titan, Warring Triad, 4cmc Teval.

2/11/26: 3-0 in the Upkeep NY cube with multicolor dragons/landfall. Mana was great

A jolly @cubeforacause.upkeepnewyork.com stone soup draft tonight! I brought for myself and a new guest in town from the UK who reached out by the upkeep site.
I went 1-1 with a cool Sultai good stuff pile

It was super fun. I brought ~$100 of cards and left with a pool I was excited about. Drafted an abzan tokens deck. Had a conspiracy to give Thalia and the Gitrog Monster haste. Overall a great time!

This is my 45. Stone soup rules are: everyone brings a color balanced pool of 45 cards, and then we shuffle them up and draft. This week, we did it a little different because we drafted for keeps!

Did this ever come out?

This was the first time I've seen Cosmogoyf so huge! I think it may have been bad matchups too, there were a few slow decks in the pod that looked like they would lose to a controlling deck like this.
