Mets chanting for Austin Warren was surreal theater. Would be cooler if they actually won.

Nolan McLean is so good. Limitless potential.
I really think there’s something to the idea of people latching on to mind-blowing things like the Artemis mission, and things in pop culture like “The Pitt” and “Project Hail Mary.” People are hungry for competency and doing things for the greater good. I hope this feeling spreads.
Díaz was the one guy I wanted back with the Mets this offseason. Just goes to show that you just never know.
The closer landscape beyond Mason Miller, seemingly
This week's MLB Power Rankings are up. I feel like I was an appropriate amount of harsh on the Mets. For as good as the NL Central has been, there's a lot of surprisingly bad teams right now.

A Forbes article about a father who killed eight children, with an embedded prediction widget inviting people to speculate on whether "Congress will pass new gun safety legislation before 31st December 2026"
ghoulish
Mason Miller has taken the power from all closers
i lived through the 1993 mets, this team can’t hurt me
I had the same thought!
The Mets finding out that it does, indeed, go to 11
After telling my six-year-old about the Mets’ 10-game losing streak:
“So do they just go away now?”
If only.
This year is missing Soto, but also the roster and coaching staff is so very different than last year (with players playing new positions) that there’s something we can’t exactly quantify which is going on.
Stearns got too high on his own supply for Severino/Manaea, thought he could continue to play it cute. Last year was mostly about pitching.
Child: I know your name. Mamdani.
Obama: What’s his first name?
Child: Mayor.
** Says “the long-term health of the franchise looks strong!” **
Cycle repeats, etc.
For the bulk of the last 10 years, the Mets have really cornered the market on Team Who Shouldn’t Be This Bad Yet Somehow Just Are This Bad.
The Mets should ironically (earnestly?) bring back “Who Let the Dogs Out?” to turn this around
I sorta feel for the Mets players right now. I can turn the game off and enjoy my life. They have to continue being on the Mets right now.
I left the country in the middle of the last one. Might have to do it again.
It may still work out, but I'd be nervous about even building a Scoresheet lineup the way David Stearns has built this Mets roster this season. He's putting himself on the line with the whole approach.
Nico Hoerner among the league leaders in RBI, as we all predicted.
I miss spring training Senga.
Mets encouraging everyone to attend that Friday afternoon Happy Hour after all.
R.I.P.
One of the great underrated players of his era.
Mets totally shaking up the lineup because why the heck not when you have been a steaming pile for a week and a half. Benge in the leadoff spot!
1) Carson Benge
2) Bo Bichette
3) Francisco Lindor
4) Luis Robert
5) Francisco Alvarez
6) MJ Melendez
7) Marcus Semien
8) Brett Baty
9) Tyrone Taylor
100 percent. There's an energy to it that can't be matched.
