But I honestly think the Backstreet Boys used the sphere visuals in the most innovative way this year. With the big platform rising up to the center of the visual vortex

Vegas 2004 is unanimously hailed as the worst Phish run ever. Yet even during the worst of times they still managed to lay down one of the best Twist’s ever.

I really don’t know how they will top the pre-recorded jams to open the Sphere 2024 shows.
Also Kuroda basically has the weekend off
Ghosts of the Forest - 4/13/2019 United Palace Theatre
Jake’s Jams - Great Moments Through The Years ©️
7/22/2003 - Friday
This might be one of the most collectively disliked Phish songs, that I happen to enjoy. Poignant lyrics and the solo usually ripped.
I love the little pre jam to start this best ever version.
Hate how videos reduce the clarity
Rapper Trey ;)

“Hello Friends” “A tradition unlike any other”
If I had to choose I think Rory I on his game enough to go back to back but I’d love to see Scheffler make a come from behind beat down
Missing Vern in 16 tower. 2 best calls in Masters history:
“Maybe….. YES SIR” - Vern Lun
“Oooh myyy God…… “In your life have you seen anything like that”

Even during their roughest weekend of their careers they still managed to find some pretty good sections. Especially the second night and moments of the 3rd.

7/19/1998 - Shoreline McGrupp
Absolutely so locked in during this post McGrupp jam. With the jam included it’s by far my favorite version ever.
Damn forgot they did snd your right
In a way kind of like asking if zero drugs were involved during cypress would it still be equally as good
At the time and I still think, set 1 night 1 through AC/DC Bag was pretty good
Ha! I can’t ever imagine what that could’ve been like. On the other side of the coin, witnessing the soundcheck & hearing such an incredible 40 minute jam. Is one of my fondness Phish memories seeing I-90N turn into one of the craziest dance parties..
If Great Went’s Secret set was even remotely close to as good as the previous and prior year’s secret sets I think the festival &!esp 8/16 would be rated way higher
Pretty soon any fan esp all those riders will be able to produce professional shot concert footage with the new DJI pocket 4 coming soon
The one week of the year everyone is an expert on golf knowledge.
Yet there would be no Augusta National if Bobby Jones never played Pasatiempo in Santa Cruz and said “Holy shit this course is incredible, I want something like this of my own”

This is one of the first KDF’s I REALLY liked. Some absolute shredding by T$.

6/29/2000 - Drowned
This jam is so infectious and the segue into R&R is even better. When they were on in 2000 they were so fucking on.
Thank you!

(As I continue my pursuit of awesome 90’s era Dead jams.)
Recommendations gladly accepted

Haha I would be too!! Santa Barbara Bowl is my favorite outdoor venue ever. I like it even more than RR surprisingly to most.
The second live Birds of a Feather and it’s still one of the best ever IMO

Yeah I was gonna include that whole segment through Sally.. idk why I left it out… also I’m missing the jammed Timber from the last Hollywood Bowl run.
Could surely could go for a Sphere LiveBait playlist from April shows & Southwest/West coast gems throughout @phish.com’s career. Little -(not really, list of recommendations)

My favorite Weekapaug.

Slow build baby.
My favorite Piper intro.
The intro creeps up on you and before you know it you’re in fast and furious mode. I especially love how this version dives right back into a mellow groove after going 0-60.

9/14/2000 - Carini
Absolutely love this show, Trey’s tone with addition of the reverse delay and boomerang. Probably the best type 1 version.
This Franklin’s is actually quite tight.(Except for Jerry coming in a little early on the vocals. But love the extended, playful intro.
