Cada donación nos ayuda a brindar ayuda humanitaria, apoyar a las familias que han perdido a sus seres queridos a través de nuestra línea de ayuda, respaldar refugios a lo largo de la frontera, y documentar las realidades que los migrantes enfrentan.

On April 7th, you have the chance to be part of something powerful. Every gift — whether big or small — helps us provide humanitarian aid in the desert, operate our missing migrant hotline, support shelters along the border, and document the realities migrants face.

As the temperatures reach record highs, we are committed to providing humanitarian aid as long as this crisis of death and disappearance continues.
As temperatures warm and desert conditions grow more extreme, more migrants will die from severe dehydration and exposure. These are two of the main causes of death for migrants crossing.
Border enforcement — combined with climate change — has weaponized these extreme conditions.
Record heat warnings will be hitting the southwest this week, making crossing the desert even more deadly. Last year, more than 112 people were killed in Arizona while crossing the border.
An interview with our friends about border enforcement across the country and counter-insurgency in the southwest borderlands. Give it a listen here!
Organizing against borders can seem utopic, but there are many concrete fights:
1 Mutual aid networks
2 Rapid Response actions
3 Stopping PIC construction & budget fights
4 Ending agreements w/ local enforcement
5 Non cooperation of public institutions (hospitals etc) w/ immigration
6 Status 4 All
“U.S. Customs and Border Protection told [Tohono O’odham] officials that guidance from Washington, D.C., was to complete the wall in Arizona — including construction on the tribe’s land. Tribal officials pushed back on those plans.” www.azcentral.com/story/news/p...

“As a humanitarian organization founded on the belief that all people deserve dignity, we condemn all acts of violence from Border Patrol”

If the border did not exist, if militarization and violence were absent from the borderlands, people would move freely, without needing to turn to smuggling networks.
Vehicle pursuits too often turn into mass casualty incidents, in which one or more people are killed and others are seriously injured. It’s not just the indifferent and deadly landscape, or the heat, that kill people, but the actions of USBP agents on the ground and in the sky.
This incident does not exist in isolation. Just last week, two people died following a car chase with Border Patrol. According to the US-Mexico Migrant Death Database we released last year, at least 182 deaths occurred due to foot and vehicle pursuits.
We must not allow this incident to be about the victim's alleged illegality when everything that has shaped the federally/state-sanctioned violence that upholds the border is morally unjust & has been since the establishment of the border & the inception of Border Patrol.
We should not trust anything these agencies say, but even if their version of events is true, this violence is not a consequence of smuggling—it’s a consequence of the border, which creates the smuggling economy in the first place.
As we saw with the killings of Renee and Alex in Minneapolis, when federal agencies shoot people, they smear the victims as criminals and terrorists regardless of any facts.
“Federal agents killing and harming people in the borderlands isn’t new. For decades, the desert has been a place of violence and death, and for so many people there has been no accountability.”
Border Patrol shot someone in Arizona this morning outside Arivaca.
The murders of Renee Good and Alex Pretti are not unusual. Border Patrol agents have killed hundreds of people over the past few years. We know about Renee and Alex because Border Patrol was deployed in a city, in front of cameras.
“As many of us who have lived at the southern border and have worked to resist and mitigate the impacts of its militarization have warned for decades: the borderlands are a laboratory for the rest of the country”

No More Deaths’ aid camp is stationed in the middle of the Sonoran Desert, a few miles from the border in southern Arizona. The group said that site was raided by Border Patrol agents the Sunday before Thanksgiving.
"Meanwhile, solidarity with migrants is being increasingly criminalized. ... Border Patrol has increasingly been raiding a first aid camp set up by volunteer group No More Deaths."

“This illegal raid on our humanitarian aid station perpetuates a cycle of violence by not allowing those making a very deadly crossing to receive appropriate medical care, rest, food, and water,” said No More Deaths aid worker Ary Tischler.
"When pressed for a legal explanation, agents claimed they were in 'hot pursuit' and therefore did not need a warrant," a No More Deaths spokesperson said.
"This claim fails to meet the standard of 'hot pursuit, which requires an immediate, continuous chase — not an hour of waiting."
“Border Patrol entering structures without a warrant is an escalation of attacks against life-saving humanitarian aid as well as a clear violation of the Fourth Amendment protections that everyone, regardless of legal status, is protected under”
