Ah yes, we ran into this one too! Most of our work was around making text spaces localization-friendly (shrinking text for menus) and also a few bespoke things like that path writer. We got a lot of mileage out of just making custom fonts (e.g. with bevels as a bitmap font) in our early experiments.

We built a custom Path2D text writer for our project! Should we release it? It's pretty fun.

It's almost *dancing* time.
