— while expecting others to fawn over and engage with their stuff. But I think that’s the real separation for me. It’s a two way street, but if you just don’t walk down it, that’s also fine
I mean, I think it’s just seen as people being selfish if all you ever see on their profile is their own stuff, which I can understand. I don’t think it’s a hard and fast rule, but it feels similar to me as people only ever posting their own art in art spaces, and refusing to interact with others’—

I think that ultimately, what I really need to internalise is just that it’s okay to work on personal stuff alongside commissions. I’m getting worse and worse at it
