participate.melbourne.vic.gov.au/road-safety-... disappointed that the intersection of the Capital City Trail and Poplar Rd is not marked to be fixed as part of this project. Still time for feedback! It's one of two places where bikes are forced into the road on the CCT
Hey! Me and my son are Angry Cyclists! I do my best to not get angry on the streets anymore, but angry at the polls and in submissions is necessary.
Side note: Ismo was very happy when the photographer asked him to use a serious face, he already does the same thing in school photos...
Well at least they're being honest, unlike all the "bike and door opening" lanes everywhere else
We're expecting some very high tides again today, which means the Moonee Ponds trail might be flooded this afternoon @bikewest.org @merri-bekbug.bsky.social
It started off just bikey but has expanded to transport and urban stuff in Melbourne
I made a list called Bike Melbourne bsky.app/profile/did:... which is what i mostly scroll to get my good local info without too much US. Happy for recs for more users too
On the train towards Werribee, an announcement about replacement buses comes over the speaker 😐 youtu.be/VdwYdMF4nMs?...
You thinking what I'm thinking? Carbon tax 2.0? Yes please!
I'm still pissed the Libs killed that...
I'd love a highpoint - Maribyrnong rd - Brunswick rd - Westgarth st. And then Moreland rd - Normandy Ave. Guess we'll have to be content with that bit of the 58 on Dawson rd in the meantime
On a work trip to Shepparton and rather than hire a car, we took the train. Such a civilized way to travel!
New bike lane on Williams/Franklin Street, very nice! Slowly filling in the gaps...
The new bike bridge over Footscray road is open, i love it! It's a pity about the price tag of the $10B freeway, but you've got to take what you can get
New #3CR podcast: Anna Johnston talks about Collins Street Bike Lanes & Streets People Love Hobart. Local news includes Yarra council meeting on 8 April to decide Elizabeth & Coppin St protected lanes + more www.3cr.org.au/yarrabug/epi...
🚲MAJOR DISRUPTION🚲 Capital City/Upfield Trail near Royal Park - closures from now until 17th April @merri-bekbug.bsky.social i found out after calling @cityofmelbourne.bsky.social but there's no info online, I'm not sure of the extent or safe detours
Welcome to the War on Cars, Trump!
On a side note, when will Royal Parade get the St Kilda road bike lane treatment? Anyone pushing for that? It would benefit so many people #melbourne #bike
Balloon suspiciously hiding in the trees over Royal Parade
Photo of a woman wearing a helmet at the start of a bicycle journey. She's on the bike, surrounded by people. She has a stuffed toy koala mounted on her handlebars.
Billie Samuel was the first woman to cycle from Melbourne to Sydney, Australia. On her return journey, she broke the women's world record for the fastest ride from Sydney to Melbourne.
Happy #BicycleBirthday, Billie!

Brunswick Junior Clinic on a perfect autumn morning, bliss!
Ride2School and instrumental music day, yessss
Wow, an amazing Ride2School day this morning! Big thanks to Bicycle Network and the Yarra council. The kids and parents were really excited. I'm doing a 'hands up' count this arvo, expecting high numbers of riders. Once we know how many kids are *able* to ride, we can aim for that amount every day
It does make it tricky to advocate and build infrastructure for a population that perhaps don't know how useful it could be...
I was recently in a group of about 10 people waiting to cross Sydney road at cnr Union st. No one had pressed the button so the lights cycled without a pedestrian green. Ridiculous!
Join in on Ride to School Day 2025, this Friday!

Excited about Ride2School day this Friday 🚲🚲🚲! Lots of events at my kid's school, in collab with Bicycle Network. Hoping plenty of students and parents are inspired to ride/walk and realise how good it is!
Am I right that the Capital City Trail is forced on to the road in just two places; Parkville (under consultation) and Abbotsford? Someone should fix that...
