I was so exhausted from wringing rags the entire day, I fell asleep on the half rolled up carpet at 3 am after surrounding the windows with kitchen rags with the sounds of wind screaming and raging and rags dripping. Being Micronesian/islander is not for the faint of heart.

Later, when the winds shifted, I couldn't even take video from this window because we needed to hurriedly shut it and LOCK our typhoon shutters to keep the rain out and violent winds from wrenching them open. Rain still came in 😩 We moved our bailing station from the front door to the back windows.

I took this 3.5 hrs later. It got worse. Things can only take so much before they break, but we keep on keeping on 🇲🇵🇬🇺🇫🇲

Last week, a gentleman returned this rather dilapidated copy of this famous book to us after 50 years. He had found it in his attic!
Presumably this means there is a pristine copy somewhere in our libraries....

Update on the housing crisis on the mid-north coast - this person is charging $175 a week to pitch a tent (byo tent), with extra for access to a bathroom. Tempted to reply and ask how much to be allowed to hose oneself down in the yard. Something should probably be done about the housing crisis.
