i think the amount of surfing i’ve been doing lately is my favourite “””writing research””” i’ve ever done and soon i’m going to have to write a surf romance to make up for currently only having casual surfer characters

the words are well stocked but the confidence is not!

i find this outside of fantasy, too. there’s been a good number of romance books i’ve read where the male love interest is… concerning levels of boring but because he’s 6’4 and blue-eyed, i was FOOLED by reviews saying it was a fantastic read🥲 i blame the self-insert style for that!!

but how could i POSSIBLY be included when i spend all my spare time writing and also get good feedback from readers!!!

the fight today would’ve made a really, really terrible enemies to lovers introduction. like that was not at all something anyone could write a fic about therefore it was bad.

my current MC AND her love interest are constantly shaking their heads and sighing and/or scoffing but it’s exactly who they are as characters who hate the idea of vulnerability with words
