A few minutes later, in the operating room, everyone was in scrubs and surgical gear except for the Igor guy, who was wearing nikes, jeans, and a grinch t shirt. He looked so familiar. I told him so and he said “I get that all the time. From everybody. I’m Brad Pitt” and grinned.

Right before my final surgery, I was on the bed outside the operating room and one of the doctors mentioned a nerve block they were going to do and, very drugged, I said “Oh like in Young Frankenstein…” and a different man said “Walk this way!!” and did the Igor walk down the hallway.

I’m home and healing and will be fine, but the situation was so traumatic that I am still remembering little things that happened, conversations and faces. Some memories are much stronger than others and this is the one that plays in my head the most often

Last Thursday morning I slipped on the ice and spent three days in the hospital. The details make me nauseous and dizzy to think about, so I will just say that many terrible things happened inside my arm and elbow, which required two hospitals and several procedures to stabilize.
