Y'all wouldn't believe how afraid of dogs I used to be 12 years ago. (I'm not always unafraid of dogs, tbf.)

One of my dog friends wrote, "We appreciate Baxster for helping you love dogs the way you do. I know this is hard."

That's one of the many ways Baxster changed my life.

Re: nostalgia for VHS tapes and other analog media, I saw someone say like "a VHS tape never sold my information to a nazi" and yes that's true! But the reason it's true is actually because Congress passed a law in 1988 specifically making it illegal for video stores to sell your rental history

Magyar’s speech is powered. From a contact in the audience: “He’s basically just asked all the puppets, all the supreme justices, all the heads of media, all the heads of the ministries to leave their jobs tomorrow and not wait to be fired.”

this is why there’s been mass revolt and opposition to data centers being built in communities. it is genuinely a health hazard to live this close to something emitting this much sound. these need to stop being built

AI Is Really Weird If you like this piece and want to support my independent reporting and analysis, why not subscribe to my premium newsletter? It’s $70 a year, or $7 a month, and in return you get a weekly newsletter...

Free newsletter: We need to talk about the inherent weirdness of the AI bubble, and how strange it is that an industry that loses billions of dollars to create few productivity benefits is described as a disruptive technology rather than an industry of WeWorks.

This week, Brexit finally killed our family business. We cleared out our warehouse, handed back the keys, paid the final bills and said goodbye to our last employee.
What was once a thriving firm died a slow, sad death, all thanks to Farage, Johnson and the gullible idiots they conned. 1/18
