Yes, ever since social media has taken off, it’s hard to keep private separated from public when you often use the platforms to market yourself. I rarely share personal opinions on social topics to keep my feed “clean”. But I do feel silenced at times.

I think I have an addiction. I compulsively sleeve cards, construct/stain wooden board game inserts, paint the edges of tokens/boards, use coin capsules for tokens, and buy deluxe replacement components on Etsy…

It’s been a while since I’ve worked this much so I’m really excited to invoice for the month! Only 5 more hours to go before I close my hours for the month 🥰

Adaptabletop game table risers work surprisingly well on the bed. I’ve been playing final girl a lot before I go to sleep and it’s nice and cozy!

Redwood was a lot of fun to play. Many lame beaver jokes were made during the game 🤣

Played Final Girl with my husband for the first time. We played the madness in the dark box (Wolfe Asylum/Ratchet Lady) which was awesome and really thematic. Lost the first game and won the second. I’m excited to play again and it worked well while we jointly controlled the final girl!

I remember seeing their sign at Essen for the first time and being confused 😂

Finished stickering and coloring my copy of Honey Buzz 🐝. Now to find a time to get it to the table 😅

Wow I didn’t realise how depressed I was until I switch meds because my anxiety medication wasn’t working properly. The house is tidier than it has been in a year and I’m on top of work and cleaning! It’s sort of scary how depression crept up on me and became my new norm.

Well written. I can see there are some replies throwing out theories about how it can be ethical if a single artist trains AI on their art. But they forget generative AI needed millions of images to train on which is impossible for a single artist to produce.

A nice night of Arkham Horror 3E where we managed to win. It’s a shame it doesn’t have anymore expansions in the works. I prefer it to second edition.

Played a game of Night Parade of a Hundred Yokai and all three of us tied at 10pt each. Thankfully there were multiple tie-breakers!

I personally feel most competitive board games should have tie-breakers. A shared victory feels hollow if you are trying your best to win.

Had a great game of 3 player Bitoku with Restauranten expansion Friday! It’s my favourite euro game in my collection closely followed by Brass Birmingham.

I’d love more space to work with in rulebooks! Unfortunately I’m often required to keep the page count as low as possible to reduce production costs. But this is something to consider in future and push back on. :)

The theme this Essen seemed to be constructing dual layer boards using double sided stickers. Evenfall, Planta Nubo & Skyteam all required some construction before playing. It seems like a good idea if it keeps printing costs down. Dual layer boards are very handy.

Using tweezers for stickering meeples is the best! It’s so much easier to align things. I just finished stickering my Bitoku meeples and now I can consider my deluxification for this game complete 🥰

I think the odds will differ based on the meeple shape, thickness and material. Rolling Heights doesn’t use generic wooden meeples and shape. It’s a little unique.

My husband keeps calling them dogs so I adjusted the title. 😅
