Swamp/Skarm doesn't die it just reinvents itself

One of the things I've been working on in coaching is exactly that - which info to present as easy to jettison or recognize as a "later problem" and which to focus on early in learning. A lot of things like IVs get this disproportionate importance which can ultimately harm a beginner. Tough stuff :/

There's a *LOT* to this game that's unwritten and those + even interpreting resources (how does someone use PVPoke to build a regional team?) just is very difficult to parse compared to a Limitless or Victory Road resource for the other games.

If any of these drop in viability due to actual stats I'll re-work this and make an updated one :)
Luckily these Pokémon are all ones with GO PVP longevity.
There's another big piece of beginner content I wanna work on late this P!P season, hmu if you want to help or are curious!

(Woth noting as well that you can always practice/scrim with moves before legality in P!P)

Some logistical info: I plan to do one of these per in-game season at minimum this year, I truly think this is one of the biggest barriers to entry for competitive GO PVP.

In TCG, relative being the key word 😂 You haven't seen how much I get swarmed in GO (I wouldn't trade it for the world)

I know the common response (because I've gotten it from friends) is "representation is not your responsibility" and "don't put this on yourself" but I'm being honest on how I feel. Feelings aren't always logical.

Notes reading: So it's been interesting taking a year off. There have been a multitude of reasons for that, mostly financial (finally beat the job market in game 5), but some of the others have lessened as well. I feel loved by the community again, GO Fest was actually really big in that regard. Therapy has helped me drown out antagonists, as much as that's taken longer than I'd like. I've felt a lot of guilt this year about how few women we've had performing well at events, qualifying for worlds, etc. I'm incredibly proud of those who have, and I'm excited to watch them all compete in Anaheim, I'm just also recognizing that I was doing more for representation than I ever thought I was. And that's very affirming but also scary to see disappear. I am kind of two minds about it all, as some could expect given my experiences.

Notes reading: I'm torn about next season. I have spent this year getting *really* good at the TCG. Like I genuinely believe I could spike a respectable day 2 result if my hands are running hot. And completing the trifecta of Liquipedia + Limitless Pages across the 3 games would be very funny and very satisfying. That's also a game where if I went to many events, trained harder, and optimized my season I think I could possibly make a run at worlds. And that is enticing. It's been really fun trying and learning something again from 0. And the TCG community doesn't have any of the established history, antagonists who know me, or bittersweet connections with former friends. Im a relative nobody with some cool friends, and that's freeing but also a double-edged sword. It is notably not my game. Yet.

Notes reading: I think my plan is to GO hard until I'm firmly in invite range (or spike a win) and then enjoy TCG on the latter half. A bit haughty of me to say I can do, but also anyone who's seen me tap a phone knows that I absolutely have earned the right to be that confident. I doubt I travel award chase unless I *really* like the meta, and unless we get a reversion to the Surf nerf I doubt that's happening. Also that. Another reason I've been meh about GO: I don't know how much I enjoy OGL now that Fini is effectively unplayable. For all the "branding" there, the Pokémon is just really fun to play. But there are other fluid mid-bulk mons, I'll find something. Happy to hear suggestions there :3 As always, love y'all, and would always love to hear thoughts. Introspection tough. I'm excited to be back in the saddle 💚

I'd say it's a very nice QoL upgrade for those who get them but nothing groundbreaking :)

For PVP this is really good to fine-tune IVs on the one-time legendaries and mythicals.
Fortunately those aren't very meta-relevant currently, and it only matters if your IVs are like notably bad.
For raids etc it's a nice way to perfect shinies that aren't quite perfect yet.

Incredibly blessed to have AlphaFeeb in the GO community, especially now it's so appreciated to have a cis/het player take time from his interview to say this.

It isn't *exactly* still a thing; it's mainly a staple in these posts because of how hated it was and because I love a running gag. But technically Victreebel got buffed this season so who knows?
