My energy for defending Labour is diminishing, although I still believe there are many excellent people in the Labour Party , great MPs and good policies - rarely discussed. My energy for fighting the rise of hateful and divisive right wing politics is strong. We can’t let them win.

Is it wishful thinking to hope that in the upcoming UK LOCAL elections people might vote for candidates with knowledge of local problems,experience of local government, and have the right motivation to do good for their local community?

I am so utterly despairing of the likelihood that so many people will vote Reform in the May elections, and many seats will be won by them. What has happened to allow a nasty, racist, divisive group of people with only one agenda get such a foothold in society?

Absolutely right, somehow enough morons have got together in the US, and voted to impose an utter disaster on the world. The UK could do the same with Farage - UK morons are out moroning US morons as they can see what Trump is doing, and would still vote for Farage.
I can see your point, but massive damage to infrastructure (and people’s lives)has been done. Trump is talking about backing out of the war now. The UK is in a uniquely tricky situation, and I think allowing US to use UK bases might not have the consequences we expect. Happy to be proved wrong.

Trump’s actions affect the whole world. Security and stability, norms of acceptable behaviour, human rights, energy, food and drug prices. Everyone is affected by Trump.
If only more people were willing to speak up like this, there is not always a balanced argument to be had. For the vast majority of people vaccines are a good thing. No argument.
Sadly I agree. Mahmood’s current course of action is horrifying. I want a pragmatic party, but one with kindness and compassion- this isn’t it. Where next?

Having previously been very active in the Labour Party, I am so disappointed with their time in Govt. There are still many great Labour MPs, and some good stuff acheived,but the leadership has been dismal.
What am I missing, what was the point of this carnage?
