Actually, I only have like a vague familiarity with the Thaumaturges' Guild pre-Calamity, but from what I can tell...
Most of Temple's cohorts as a teen and young adult were little Lalafell wizards who practice their "mwahahaha" laughs with each other.
I feel like this could explain. Some things.
In my head I feel like it was early in her time at the Thaumaturges' Guild. Maybe like year two.
A more senior mage notices she's struggling reading smaller print in a textbook, and borrows *another mage's* glasses for her to try out.
