I am genuinely one of the luckiest people in the world, and 30 years ago today, @kimfemetal.bsky.social made it official.

Hmm... I collect translations of The Art of War and haven't seen this. He doesn't really get into governing except in the context of relations between the sovereign and the generals, and only addresses morality in how to effectively motivate and reward/punish troops.
Good quote, just not Sun Tzu.
Synuefe NL-N C23-4 is my go-to Guardian site, so much so that I don't have to look up the system name to type it here. I've spent so much time there that it feels like home away from home.
That's amazing!
Oh, that is disappointing. I expect better from Valve.
Just to point out that Valve has released a new version of Portal 2 for its 15th anniversary, focused on content creation and community content. That's very nice.
Some games disappear within two years; others receive the treatment these works deserve. 🤷♂️
I'm literally reading this while I'm at the middle of the Mario World at Epic Universe in Orlando.
It totally tracks.
"If the Enrichment center is currently being bombarded with fireballs, meteorites, or other objects from space, please avoid unsheltered testing areas wherever a lack of shelter from space-debris does not appear to be a deliberate part of the test."
Portal 2 is 15 today!
When we spent a week in Ireland a while back, our 1st and last meals were at Kyteler's Inn in Kilkenny. It was established in 1263! Coming from a country where almost nothing is more than a couple hundred years old, eating at a place that was >200 years old when Columbus sailed was surreal!
The university I went to has a teaching hospital. One night, my girlfriend and I snuck into the basement (don't remember why) and found a dimly lit museum of horrors, with shelves full of jars with nightmarishly deformed fetuses.
Our 30th wedding anniversary is this weekend. :-D
Meanwhile, the latest goings on with the ISS:

Thank you for the reminder of why I left Twitter.
Oh, I have STRONG feelings on this topic!
He's right. The correct answer is Triceratops, but only because nobody ever thinks of Styracosaurus.
Far Side fans are allowed to pick Stegosaurus even though it's wrong.
T-Rex is the "I know squat about dinosaurs but liked Jurassic Park" answer.
Life goals.
That's true, but in this case it's correct.
Landing.
its almost mid week. things will get better :)

Breaking news!
#EliteDangerous @frontierdev
I'd add nuclear power to the list also, even though it's not renewable.
What if you just keep accelerating at 1g? Amazing stuff happens!

I assure you, we are! This is wonderful news, and there's every indication that Trump's sycophants will be absolutely crushed in the November midterm elections here, which will SEVERELY curtail his power.
I know that this is a trivial point, but when did "nuclear" become a noun?
Exactly. He's already made the US military mercenaries for Trump's friends and publicly announced his intention to commit genocide, so why not add piracy to the list?
The four Artemis astronauts embrace inside the Orion Capsule. American and Canadian flags, along with equipment and hardware are surrounding them.
This is such a great photo.
Probably the best of all the #ArtemisII photos.
Diversity, international collaboration, humanities, science, art, engineering, the desire for exploring, the drive of human curiosity, the reward of years of dedicated hard work, and just pure joy.
It's all in there.
True. Also, "floating turd" is a fantastic description of Outlook.
MoonJoy and back home to Earth!
Welcome home, congratulations on a successful mission, and thank you for all the views to the crew of Artemis II: NASA Astronauts Commander Reid Wiseman, and Pilot Victor Glover, Mission Specialist Christina Koch, and CSA Astronaut Mission Specialist Jeremy Hansen
I think this is such an important sentiment!
We've decided that he's getting paid a quarter every time he says "front porch", a dime for every "erection", and a nickel for every "hoist".
If he says "Navy divers", "hoist", and "erection"in the same sentence he gets a bonus.
Loved Artemis 2? Want to see NASA continue to do amazing science?
Please contact your Senators & Reps to reject the WH’s proposed budget cuts to NASA. Think of it as a way of showing appreciation for the joy of the last 10 days.
