As long as you get ahead you're a success. If you're nice too, great! You just probably won't go as far in fields that of greatest earning. And if you're a cheating lying asshole and get ahead, you won't make many friends (you can trust) but youre rich and powerful so youre an example somehow.

I've often wondered the about the moral philosophy question of human nature being inherently good or bad. I think I've landed on majority of humans being good natured, HOWEVER...
Society as it's currently structured really incentivizes shitty behavior.
